View Full Version : Bad experience for first-time online Player
Are there any Non-PK communities on Europe Realm?
Or possibly US-East, although I'm located in Scandinavia.
I'm kinda tired of all my games getting invaded by PK'ers.
They enter, immediately hostile you, and ask "wanna duel?"
The speed they do it at indicates they must've done it countless times. Blergh.
I usualy just leave game the moment they hostile me now.
Today though, it almost was the end of my first adventure into the Online Hardcore World.
Some guy apparently entered my game while I was in the kitchen for a coffee refill.
Character parked in what looked like a safe room in the catacombs.
I came back and continued my search for Andariel.
A few secs later, I see a Big Red Cross on the MiniMap, heading towards me.
Again, I just left the game.
I am still low level and playing untwinked, so it wouldn't have been a big loss.
But getting a fairly lucky start and with him being the first character...
I'm starting to doubt my decision on creating a Hardcore character.
I enjoyed Hardcore much, offline, and thought it would be even more fun partying up with people online.
But instead, all I've found are PKers hunting the next easy kill.
Being forced to play solo/passworded games to avoid an untimely death by a PKer,
it kinda defeats the purpose of playing online, at least for me.

Yeah, it's rather routine. I generally just go get my dueler, they get ther 80 ish char, I smack them around a bit, they give up in shame.
Atleast he gave chase. If it were me you probably wouldnt have been so lucky ^^
Um i hate to break it to you but the image that was in your head about online hardcore play simply doesnt exist. If u ask me i dont mind PK's they keep the game challenging and seperate softcore from hardcore. Also pks act sort of like a noobie filteration system =P

Oh my god...I just broke down laughing....Massive massive massive props.
Like most newer HC player s i hated PKs though when i started it was less legit ( tppk , hydra pk ) then it is now. Ive come to respect the legit pk, after seeing the amount of work it takes to assemble a good pker ; props to Baraanor and his Cheapasdirt Pks though. I actually enjoy pks in the games i play in provided they are pking above their level not below.
Take some time to look into what it takes to be a succesful pker you might be less critical of them, i know i am.

Don't worry about pk's at moment. Learn their ways, as after a while of playing hardcore, you also will develop hc PvP skills and build gladiators of your own!

Fisrt of all... PK's are annoying as hell on sewer runs.... Mainly...
The other thing is... if U are interested in some equipment then just msg me on b.net (*zel_san), I don't have that much myself but I can give U items for sure.
well, KTA is a PK free environment. Basically, what you do is: Put up a thread here: "ISO: People to play legit with" or something like that. Set a time and conditions to play in, that you all agree on (KTA plays untwinked HC ladder). Then play PW protected games...no PK's.
If you create public games, you can set a level restriction on your games. If you just join random games however, be prepared to be pk'ed or hostiled or asked to duel.
If you are looking for someone to play with at random times, I am online with accounts

welcome to the hardcore community. :-)
Well, as you could read in the other posts, pk'ing is a part of hardcore and in a few month i think you will be on your way with an own pk. hehe.
But if you wanna play in a safe enviromnent, try to join the chat channel "chat gat-europe". There sometimes meet nice player to play without hostiling and such.
You also can msg me on europe. Account is "battle.cookie" or "evil.cookie" where the second is the pvp account. ;-)
