obviously this is for my merc.
he's a few str. points shy of the req. atm,
but i'm in the process of lvling him (he's 74), gettin gear, etc.

"what to socket it with?"
since it is eth., i'm a bit reluctant to socket it w/ anything atm :confused:
the traditional amn shael / 2x amn / amn, ed 'jool' etc.?
and/or what would you socket it with?

p.s - i love you eldritch!i never lost faith in you! i believed you in!

anyways, any help is appreciated.

i have a eth 312% bonehew on my might merc
i placed 2 40-15 ias in it, and focused the other equip on leech life

double shael it due to speed breakpoints (believe me, been there, done that, got the t-shirt). Like you said, get LL from a helm, such as Tal's mask (or gaze if you can afford it). Leviathan makes a great armor if you can get it, lots of +str. Griz armor will also give +20 str and you can start using it right away.

You definitely DON'T want to go shael-amn, that would be a waste. An act II merc using jab hits 7 frames at 20% ias using an ogre axe, and 6 frames at 65% ias. The bonehew comes with 30%, so just adding one shael doesn't get you an extra frame. Two shaels makes a total of 70% ias, just enough to make a 6 frame attack. So either go Amn-Amn, or Shael-Shael IMO (much prefer the double shael tho).

My Merc enjoys the extra LifeLeech, with Tal's Mask.
