Mf Shield of Choice?

i'm currently running a lvl 81'ish fo/cl sorc for mf'ing.
goin with "monk's" guide, i use whistan's for pvm,
but when i start to 'seriously' mf, i'm torn/confused for which shield to use then?

choices as of now:
(ptopaz) my lidless
-or-
bust out the grim (rhyme) shield?
any other suggestions?

and even then, i have 70 stat. pts. unused -
so should i pump a bit more into dex. to achieve max block while mf'ing as well?

any suggestions/comments/critiques are much appreciated.

Erm, PTopaz in Liddles will get you nothing more then 40% Lightning resistance.

well then, looks like rhyme shield it is! (as of now anyways).

SS is priceless to me as my MF build shield. High defense and great physical damage reduction, SS out performs all other shields in battle. And once you're ready for the kill, you can switch to a 4 IST monarch.

moser's blessed shield with 2 pdiamond/um runes? then yeah switch to quadist monarch for the kill

Given the suggestions originally stated I think the thread starter is too poor to throw Ist's about like that.

I would go with Rhyme in a Troll's Nest (or just an ordinary bone shield if you are still low level).

Rhyme in a Grim Shield will give you the best in blocking and requirements.
currently at lvl89 and using Rhyme on switch for Boss MFing.
Unless you can afford 4xIST Monarch, thats the way to go.

25% MF from Rhyme isnt that much really. Id just use it on the switch and use a good all around shiueld like Storm as main one. Other alternatives are mosers or sanctuary if you need the res.

lol, that is true. but 4x ist is becoming more feasible as mf-ing and trading begin to pick up a bit.

4x ist on switch sounds good.
i currently have a 4 sock. sup. monarch but the defense is 140 (low imo).
is that worth the 4x ist (assuming i do get them ^^) or should i wait to find a higher def. monarch or another type of elite shield?
