I played a session of Diablo I. It was so weird; I would hit 'p' and nothing would happen; I would hit 'alt' and nothing would happen. I had to walk everywhere, I had no mana regen, etc. Still, it was awesome fun. I highly recommend it, especially if you never played the original.

I played for a couple months while waiting for 1.10. I told myself I'd be completely legit and go from scratch and not use any of the duped godlies, but my Warrior got stuck in the Caves due to lack of gear so I just made a Mage and duped a bunch of Firebolt books :lol: . After a while though I got sick of the fruitless Lazarus runs and started playing the 1.10 Beta.

Definitely still fun every once in a while.

I did enough legit diablo oneing for a lifetime...
I played enough to make legit level ones with maxed out stats and skills...I can still remember the gear my sorc wore;
Emerald/Ages shield
KSoHaste (Broad sword, not bastard)
Saintly plate of the Ages
Dragons/wizardry amulet + 1 ring
Gold ring (FHR)
Gotterdamarung UNID'd
That was for laz/dueling rouges

Indestructable TC (that took a long time to make o_O)
And now that I actually LOOK, I think I'm missing something, because that only adds up to +4 skills, and I had them at 20...but I have no idea what o_O

I remember I had an AAoW, Drag's ammy of W, Naj's, two rings of zodiac (forget prefixes, not dragon's or obsidian though), TC which I never took the time to increase the dura on. MFing was so much easier in Diablo 1...

I play Diablo1 once in a while for the simple reason that it's story/atmosphere/creepiness/monsters/etc. make diablo2 look like a cartoony kids game. Want an example? Look at the huge horned demons that charged at you with those awesome sound effects in the catacombs or the death knights who had that "violent" explosion upon death.

so true... and the fact that it didn't take too many baddies charging at you to make you very dead made things much more interesting too... creeping through lvls triggering as few monsters at a time is sooo different from the gung-ho aggression of d2...

Tell truth, I tried playing Diablo again 4 or 5 months ago... I got as far as the first level and quit after instinctively hitting R about 50 times....... LMAO All that walking was driving me nuts! :cheesy:
