Bugged Ring?

Is this a bug?

My amazon found a ring a couple of weeks back that seems too good to be true.

+4 Strength
6% Life Leach
24% Resist All?!

I was thinking that since there are only 3 mods, maybe a bug caused both Rainbow and Scintillating to be tabbed. Any thoughts?

Interesting...you seem to be correct. According to Arreat Summit, only one prefix/postfix can be selected from one group, and only the +resist all mod appears on prefixes.

This is not necessarily a bugged ring. The stats are quite possible.
Rares can have 2 to 6 stats. You most likely have 24% to each resistance. When all resistance bonuses are the same the game engine displays the shorter message "to all" even though you never got the shimmering or scintillating prefix.

Well, assuming that, it would still be impossible.

Let's say he got the max possible prefixes and suffixes, 6.
Even so, only the prefixes can have the +resist mod, whether +all resists or individual resists. Furthermore, rares can have a max of only 3 prefixes.

So that means that in order to get +24% to all resists, he would have to have at least 4 prefixes of the single category (fire, cold, lightning, poison) or 5 assuming he only got the +all resists mod once.

Good point. You can't have more than 3 prefixes or 3 suffixes. I guess that also means you cannot have dual leech and +strength and +dex in one ring.

From what I can see then it is a bug. Either :
1. You have been given 4 prefixes and 2 suffixes.
2. Scintillating and Rainbow are not tagged as being in the same group so you can get both.
3. You have been given Rainbow twice.

I see option 2 as the likely scenario since we have not seen more of this.

a friend of mine, sold a dualleech ring in firsts weeks of 1.10 with all res mods and huge dex on it... dont see why this cant drop (he got enigma for it)

I think he means dual leech with dual stats. Dual leech dual stats rings won't be able to spawn because both leech mods and str/dex mods are suffixes. Since you can only have 3 suffixes, then its either ll/ml/str or ll/ml/dex ... you get the point.

Does it really matter why it spawned like it did? Just enjoy it!! (blizz wont be deleting it thats pretty much a guarantee)

if u own duel leech prismatc mf rings there probly the duped rings from claasic d2... a very long time ago...

That high resistance is indeed strange. But that it only has three affixes is not strange. Ever since the start of LoD, rare items can have 3-6 affixes.

How high was the Resist All in these cases? 15% Resist All should be able be found on a ring along with dual leech, STR or DEX (but not with all four of those suffixes).

I hate to collect all the stuff I find so if I were you I'd try to get a reaaaaally nice offer for that ring :)
