Pindle In Nm, worth spenting time on?

All runs done by blizz sorc lvl 60 with maxed blizz and close to max cold mastery. Nm pindy is not as good as nm baal or hell games. but its alot safer compared to hell pindle and alot quicker than nm baal runs. It also has a higher dropping class than nm eldrich/shenk. Doing nm pindle with a blizz sorc is very safe. the only time i had trouble was when pindle had might/cursed, took me down to 400 life. Drops are pretty fair, as mf does matter for nm pindle. only had about 50 mf on sorc, so the more mf on nm pindle, the better result. In the end i say nm pindle is not a bad mf spot for lvl 50-70. Because:
1. Its fast
2. Got a pretty good dropping class
3. Decent drop rate on charms,jewels,unqiues etc
4. Safer than nm baals or nm shenk in my opinion.
5. can be easily done with sorc/javazons.

Most will probably say NM Meph is better as he too is rather safe to run with a non-perfect char. Hoever, that you found as much as three rare jewels in what would not have taken more than one and a half hour or so surprises me positively :thumbsup:

Not to mention that NM pindly can give quite nice experience for the time spent. Admittably, a tele-bo affair with Baal porlly gets you more but not everyone is interested in that.

I like running pindle/shenk when leveling a merc...they level extremely quick.

I thought the reason ppl did pindle was that it was extremely fast and for the fact that he could drop anything in game. Since Nm cant, i really dont c the point in doing him at that difficulty.

Id say NM meph is better since he can drop a great deal of cool items and also have a much higher possability of doing so.

You see, imagine you're a level 55 in act 5 nightmare. You have no wish to participate in public baalruns as you're not strong enough to do that yet, you have a mercenary that does not have the gear that you want him and who is level 45 at the moment, and you want to level, find some items, flawless gems and the occasional nice thingie. The answer to your question is Pindle, Eldtrich and Shenk. Since 2/3rds of that is a boss pack you'll gain XP pretty fast. Shenk doesnt have "minions" but he does have a horde of pointless easy to kill followers who are great for dropping socketed stuff and the occasional charm. If you can kill those effectively chances are you can also mow your way through the zombie garden without too much trouble.

Basically, if your merc has a lance with 10% ED, a crap armor that adds 40 life and a crappy helmet with 15% Fire Resist (or whatever variant on another merc) he will survive the encounters and level like a rabid rabbit on rocketshoes.

The experience is still decent at lvl 70, my sorc is running those 3 bosses to gather some flawless gems and to lvl my merc and as a result I ended up gaining 2 levels...so yes I think NM pindle is worth running in certain situations and it only takes like 1 or 2 orbs to kill each boss and ripping through their minions first...and that's with mediocre gear. You also know right where to go from the portal and WP, no tele'ing or running trying to find the stairs...which makes for an extremely fast killing of the pimps and their ladies.

Uhm. This thread sort of got a little lost methinks. Even if the Title was pretty general in "whether it was worth running Pindle in NM or not", he clearly meant it from the MF point of view. Sure the exp is good, but that's obvious and means little help for the original poster and his question, so let's help him out instead :thumbsup:

i found vex while nm pindling with my necro to level my merc. It's pretty good for exp as well

to keep things interesting in nm, i like to avoid doing straight up runs, and do: andy, trav, meph, s/e, pindle (sometimes but rarely) baal. You get good items, have a more enjoyable time doing it, oh, and the exp is pretty good too :surprise:

Forgot to add the exp part too.. i meant for both reasons. mf/exp. ran nm pindy at lvl 50 usually in public baal runs and im now lvl 65ish in about 200 runs. Found over 40 charms in total, over 20 jewels, over 5 rare jewels and couple of good uniques.

I have yet to find anything good off of hell pindle. So by that measure, nm pindle has to be at LEAST as good as hell pindle for me. :D

Seriously, in 1.09 I used to kill the bad guys outside nm pindle's area as well as nm pindle himself. They netted me 2 Ist runes over the course of a hundred or so clears. So in that regard, nm pindle can definitely be worth running. Of course his henchmen outside take longer now.

Basically, I say if you're doing nm shenk/eld you might as well do pindle too. But if you don't do nm shenk/eld, then why bother with pindle?
