View Full Version : Team Deviant -Horse is Dead
It seems time has come to bury this horse and move on to greener pastures. Despite the flirtations of some new members only Ugajeremy, Prophet and I seem to show up every week. Last night Prophet couldn't make it. Jeremy was present but afk for as long as I cared to wait. No one else appeared. Xey had indicated he would try so maybe came later to find no game, if so, sorry bout that.
After Kit and most of our original team members drifted away over the weeks with nary a wave or a word I have been trying to push this thing along posting and recruiting. It seems few members are even checking in to the forum anymore. So....growing tired of flogging this I am going to step back. I do not quit things that I commit to. Kit has promised, for the 3rd time, to return next week (I hope he does). Other than Jeremy and Prophet I have no idea as to anyone else's plans.
Therefore post here if you are committed to showing up every week from here on out, barring unavoidable commitments. If any of the rest, even just Jeremy and Prophet, are truly and enthusiastically committed to seeing this thing through I'll stick it out to the end. Otherwise I'll just move on....

ok so heres the deal.
my sisters WRECKED my computer. everything BUT d2 was working (actually, thats a lie, d2 itself aint working properly, have to fidget with some keys to make it work) and thats y i missed last night.
also, im not as motivated, because i lost interest in my char type (drOOd). i'll try to get something else going on, if i can next week. no promises though. if i cant make a char by then, ill go on with drOOd.
meh, i heard about last night -.- then again, if this b*** a** class is gonna keep being a b***, i might just be in time for the christmas party (i heard you guys are shooting for december to finish?)
i kinda like the laid back atmosphere
Uuuuhh...that is always bad to hear. Just wanted to pass a few words of encouragement from team KTA that went thru a similar spot a couple of weeks back. We really had major setbacks with ppl dying, not showing up or being unable to. In the end, it seems we are coming trough, stronger than ever, with more ppl wanting to play than we can take on.
Often it just needs 2 or 3 determined players who want to keep the party going...Viamed, you sure seem to have that quality.

OK Trailerpark (I should have this pasted)...untwinked less common builds now level 50-53 currently idling at Act 3 NM.
Thanks for the interest. I do not really want to try recruiting anymore. Just finish with any of the current team that really wants to, otherwise I am just tired of setting aside every Tuesday for nought. I didn't plan on doing this every Tuesday for a year so really just want to move forward and finish or move on.
Xey: I certainly like laid back and casual (it's certainly our hallmark) if people want to just play their Dev characters whenever they can hook up with someone else on the Team then go for it. That was however not the concept....it was playing through whole game together. That needs a set time. I just don't want to set aside that time if no one else is going to make the effort.
I can't believe your tired of your character already last I heard you were only level 20 something. I've shelved a number of builds myself though. Guess wolf "Droods" aren't your thing.

Rathi..Bud...Necroman....I would gladly have you on board, but really just taking the pulse right now...Asia is probably a better scenario right now as their seems to be nice core group there at most times to game with...

Yeah, I must have just missed you two last night. I had to step across and deal with a neighbor, got back around 10 after or so I think. I could be wrong.
Anyway, I would rather something a bit more concrete as well. It's kinda funny when you actually plan evenings around playing online to only have 2 other folks show.
I'm game for whatever to be honest. I'd rather continue with a couple more people, as the more we go, the harder it's going to be obviously and I'd hate to have put this much time into it just to die in the Den at Hell.

If we can keep this thread going, then maybe we can get a full team again. I can help level most people up to our 50's .. not sure how the untwinked will work as far as items goes though. I can't remember what was in our stashes.
I agree it would be easier with more people, which is why we did the recruitee thingee before and had Kev-dawg bring over his pally, Baniser leveled up his assassin and Xey tried to catch-up a druid. For whatever reason Kev and Baniser have gone MIA and Xey hasn't been able to catch up to date. As we go further along it seems a lot to ask someone to start a fresh character and catch up.
Some options:
1. Carry on in the same vein with whoever among the existing group is prepared to commit. Heck if Kit actually came back we could probably cut it into hell for a while. If we die in the Den, we die. Heck these characters will all either die or be retired at some point.
2. Same as 1 but we toss away our principles and twink up our characters to actually kill and survive even if its only the three of us day one members (*wonders how much a poison zon can be twinked anyway*).
3. Recruit again. Probably with people who already have characters near our level that they are willing to untwink (perhaps they come in with enough gold to shop and gamble themselves some starting gear). If people are willing to start new (God bless-em) then cool but seems burdensome. Hasn't worked stellarly to date. Not sure why. Perhaps because they haven't quested with us all the way or have expectations that are unmet...who knows.
4. Toss it in. Take our characters and go play in someone elses backyard.

First off, I'm really sorry for not showing last night. **** happens and such.
I still look forward to the weekly Team Deviant gathering, and find myself sad when it breaks up. I would hope we can salvage what remains and continue on. I will be there next Tuesday come Hell, high water, or any combination of the latter two mentioned bad conditions, and after that it's summatime! I think we can make it work doing option A/1, and should try as hard as possible to do so. You seem pretty fed up viamede, but at least give it another week or so. We should be able to gauge interest/ability by then.

as far as being laid back, im pretty sure that it wasnt intentional, but it works for me. i am a real d2 addict, given the chance, i would play all day. but this summer lab thing is really kicking my *** (and around 40 other asses).
on a sidenote, do not EVER get into chemical engineering in uwisc. go do something more fun like suicide, etc
ok, anywayz, i'm still up for the drOOOOd thing, it's just really hard since my last rusher quit, im stuck at a5 norm, and i cant lvl up/kill solo. so for the time being i have to pick up s***loads of gold to gamble and kill. i'm pretty sure he's gonna be fun when i catch up (almost all chars are fun with people to play with, including titansorks)

NP Prophet I am not pointing any fingers. If I were it wouldn't be at you. I understand life, schoolwork and even baseball have to take priority. You always post in if your on or not and that's all anyone can ask.
As I said I will carry on if only one other wants to if that's what it comes down to. As long as we are committed to either showing up or posting in as soon as you know you cannot attend so people can make other plans if it's a no go. Hopefully others will chime in and then we can do a roll count. Sounds like you and Jer are up for carryin on and Xey will come on board once his course wraps up if he can get some help (I note Jer already offered to do just that).
And umm I know what option 1 was...whats A/1 :scratch:

This is my last week of horror... this upcoming week I have finals but it should NOT prevent me from gaming. I have all Sunday, I believe, to catch up with you guys. I can make it to Act 5 in a few hours methinks and then do some Baal runs to catch on up. I fully plan to be there this Tuesday at 9 with my summoner.
If it has to go, it has to go... but if it's not gonna happen tell me now so I wont waste lots of time catching up!

Well I'll be there...Prophet and Jeremy have indicated a willingness to carry on no matter what...so I said I would stick it out.
I again request and expect everybody to at least post here if they know they can't make it in the future. Courtesy will take you far....
Of course the foregone ironic conclusion of all my belly-aching, complaining and whining is that my sorc will die next week anyway. :lol:
At least Kit will be back and I will gladly hand over the recap forum posting responsibilities to him upon his return. :clap:

With a high level enchant my beasts will be... beastly. I'm really excited about this, I hope all the originals live to kill Hell Baal. What an accomplishment that would be.

Mind...he did this before and then returned so who knows...I agree he was w/o a doubt the funniest person I have ever played with. Didn't do much killing towards the end but contributed to the "team" ten times over in other ways...ya I miss him too.

I will indeed offer my services to the group, as pippen333 and pippen3333...I have lvl 43 2h Pally charger, and a lvl 38 barb frenzier close to your lvls...not really tweaked that much...I am in California now, and 9 pm is 6 pm to me, but I think you should really post where and when y'all meet, and perhaps myself and others could try to join in and help...

Well we were not really recruiting or asking for help per se at this point, just doing a roll call gut-check to see where everyones mind/heart was at. We play Tuesday at 9 EST for 2 hours more or usually less. I think we will see what transpires this week before deciding to add or not add more team members for this run.
A 2 hand charger eh...and that is for PvM? :scratch:...that would be different....
