What PK word means to you?

I was having my daily doze of public games and somehow talking subject went to pking ^^ One player said that he stopped pking when 1.10 came.. I asked why and he said: it wasnt effective anymore and by that he meaned guided arrow/tp/hostile thing..

Then it hit me like lightning.. does people really think that tppking is normal pking????? Dont they really know that its exploit? That was only one person to think it is perfectly normal to sit in town while your spammed stuff kills innocent players who cannot retaliate at all.. you can bend that and say its pking.. but veeeeeeeery unfair method....... there is no exitement to pk.. just sit in the town.. did i say they really just stand in town and relax while all others who are hostiled run for their lifes.. uhhuh

Maybe. I met people in SC who thought an Occy SOJ was a real item. If you have never known anything else, how would you know any different.

I heard that Occy SOJ was in the game in 1.07 but blizzard disabled it in 1.08 so it's legit, but most are dupes and that occy and soj are two hacked items made from the original legit one?

Also, the point of PKing is to make players be killed. TPPKing is a very effective means to that end, there is NO stretch there. That is why they acronym 'TPPK' contains 'PK'. Most of the people who PK on this board do it for things such as "fun" and "challenge" but those are not necessarily the only reasons to PK.
Having an excuse to type ROFLMAO PWNED J00 WITH TRIGGER HAX! could very well be fun...I mean except that they don't even get to be the ones who type it with the new triggers any more O_O

that there was a second Bone Spirit fired from behind the grassy Knoll.

Really though I do have a theory on this Hack and the people who wrote it/spread it. and it all ties into the whole cheating culture even what most people see as teh 'harmless' kind.

OK. Mr. l33t Haxorz finds a way to dupe items. He starts botting duping his good finds and trading the dupes for some of the truly hard to get items. these he dupes or maybe sells on E-Bay. sort of laundering his dupes if you will.

Business is good but could it be even better? Sure it could. It could be better if there was a higher demand for these items. It could be better if more Hardcore chars, especially reasonably high level ones were dying. Even if these players don't buy from mr. L33t Haxorz, the more equipment goes away the more his dupes are still worth to people looknig to replace their items.

So He writes the TPPK module. After all, it has no real chance of hurting him and his business. His chars are happily botting away in private games. So not only does he make this, he makes it readily available to every little kid on B-net who will use it.

If past experience is any indication Blizz will take 6 months to 1 year to fix this loophole. mean time he is probobly experimenting with other possible ways to kill with a similar but not quite the same idea so that when the current TPPK is finally fixed he rolls out the new version the same day and bussiness stays good.

Thats why I think the motivation is for some of these haxors. If not then benefieting the botters and dupers by insuring that things are disappearing from the market faster is just a nice uninteded bonus one group of cheaters gives to another. So it works out great for all the loser cheaters. :lol:

I seem to recall the OCCY ring was actually a legit but "bugged" drop from possibly 1.07 or 1.08. Once it was known by Blizz they patched the issue, but didnt remove those bugged items. There were actually many bugged items at this same time. Anyway, seems like this was brought up, some guy posted a pic of one that he had and then it wasnt but a couple weeks later they were duped and being traded highly in SC. Not long after it came about in HC.

This occy ring appearance was the time where i left BNet SC and went to a private relm to play, played a little HC solo as everyone there was SC, got the HC bug and came back here to find the Occy rings had totally flooded SC and had impacted HC. So I started HCX here, shortly after that Bird put up the first Asia Challenge, I jumped on the big ole lag train 28k connection and all, went and had several lag deaths but kept chuging along, never really got establish in 2-3 months there but probably made over a dozen lvl 70+ which all died but 2!!! I was hooked even with the freaking 700-1200 average ping. We all came home to East to a lovely 300-400 ping on my 28 k and I felt like i was in heaven and hit 91 3/4 on a CS Barb. Got cable and now I cant play when I get lag spikes......I HAVE FORGOT HOW TO DEAL WITH LAAAAAAAAGGGGG!!!!

Ties in well. I have a crap job that I get little pay from but I know people will pay me for itamz? Sure, fire up a few instances of d2 and start botting to make some rent. Buisness goes bad after everyone and their mother have chicken and makes damn sure that you're not selling more to people who arent dying.

Sound buisness logic to me.


Personally I'd simply be happy if you tp'ed and hostiled, you would imediately go back down the Tp, but for 2 seconds your attacks don't do damage, but you sure can take it. That'd work out nicely. Pk'ing would be viable, and obviously tppking not so. But, what are the chances.

Unholy, hit the nail on the head. If I was in business selling diablo 2 hardcore items I would do the same thing. Decrease supply, increase demand, increase prices. Unless the tppk gets out of hand and causes the consumers to leave the market.

To me PK means player killing plain and simple. Typically PK is used to refer to non-concentual attacking of another player and concentual is refered to as dueling. (and I believe that all the occy soj were created items not something found).

tppkers are lame pieces of crap plain and simple. Pking should be hostile and hunt them down even if its walking down the sewers stairs and killing people that just entered. Basically anyone that hacks, dupes, bots, etc. should stop playing the game and go find something else to do. Chickeners actually are the worst part of hc dueling. They really need to learn some manners they claim pots is for pussies and that its bad manners to pot when potting is ok in hc dueling, BUT they see nothing wrong with chicken. They claim several reasons why chicken is ok none of which make a bit of sense. So basically all hackers (YES MH IS A HACK!) should delete their hacked/botted/duped characters and start over legitely and the legit people can laugh as they die and cry about how bad they suck.

hypothetical solution: if someone hostiles, they can be killed while in town, but cant kill anyone else in town.

magical ironmaiden gogogogo, any spell/attack/minion that hits some1 while you are in town is returned to you for 10x dmg. Makes triggers/townsitters think twice hehe.

Better be careful to keep that bear or mercenary in town when you are in dueling games, and everyone is by the door.
