I want to start hardcore, I have zilch on items, I know better than to play in pubbies and whatnot because of tppk modules and whatever the heck else they use to kill hardcore characters on realm, which leads me to my question...
What would be the EASIEST character to me start a hardcore character as? I was thinking summon mancer or a really defensivly played cold sorc, but I am still not sure..
Any advice would be nice :flip:

See this thread, it should answer a few of your questions.

Beginner hardcore players should always play whatever their most used to playing.
Alot would say that Summonmancers are easiest, which I tend to agree with. The only problem is these days, once you hit level 30, everybody immediately assumes you're a TPPKer.
Summoners are great starting chars, but as NobodySpecial said, youll get real lonely after lvl 30. If you can find a friend to build a new char along with you, you shouldn't have much trouble getting through normal/nm in no time.
Summoners are great as solo chars, and even better in a party.
My bud and I ran a necro/sorc and necro/pally through nm with ease. Both necros were basically summoners, one is kinda hybrid, but still maxed rs/sm.
Sorc is cold/fire sorc, and pally is a hammerdin. All still very much alive.
Good luck, if you need someone to game with 2probo4 or 19jaden19
We play ehcl or pm me

The only problem with playing necros is that no one will play wih you anymore. In quite a few NM and Hell games I have played Necros have been asked to leave the game. No one trusts them anymore. Just keep that in mind if you choose a Necro to start with.

I'm really happy with my Crappasin (untwinked trapper) on Asia3. I just soloed NM baal at level 61 tonight. got to 64 doing hell den of evil runs. (Why not? The exp was good).
the problem I had with my summoner necro that I did on east as a first char was that later on it was still really safe but doing any sort of run took forever. the sin is very fast in comparison and IMO just as safe if not safer.
How I built it is pretty much like this:
5 or 6 in claw block
3 in shockweb
1 charged bolt sentry
2 in fade
17 shadow master
max LS
About 16 right now in DS.
The damage from a fairly low level LS is more than adequate through nightmare so I whent ahead and got the shadow master pretty near max before I went back to finish LS. the life is very good I have about 80 str and dex so I can use most claws...
right now using 2 shopped +2 assassin claws and a +1 assassin ammy. so there is a lot of room to improve on that later. still she does around 1500 per shot of LS max and the DS cleans up the leftovers nicely. thats assuming i get to fight at all. the shadow master pwnz joo.
Anyhow thats been so far the best untwinked start char I've made and ive tried quite a few. The nice thing is with the LS being so powerful with a fairly small investment of points you can have a good mix of very safe AND very fast with pretty much garbage equipment.
I'm not planning to beat the game with this char, just use her mostly for hell pit running and countess. Maybe Andy too if its fairly easy to get it done. Since thats really all the farther you need to get to find anything in the game and get to level 90+ though I'm ok with keeping her in act 1.
If you can refrain from getting a big head on a sorc because you can kill very well then it isnt a bad option as she can be great for NM runs to get you set up for other builds.
Trapper is a dead simple untwinked build. It is a bit tuff early but once she hist 24, gets some of her mana woes covered she then starts taking off. Save up those saphires and throw em in a helm, and shop wands with mana.
Summoner is a good way to go also, and if while in public you make sure you are loaded with minions odds are most will not be worried about you. Easpecially if they see that 11+ skellies and you are obviously quickly getting those minions like you need them. BTW, this still doesnt mean a Necro cant TPPK people, but it is considerably lower damage and a lot less likely. Besides, it looks like you intend to play solo a lot so it wont matter if anyone wants to run with you.
With all that said, I am a big fan of playing the character you are most comfortable with as long as when you ask yourself "What do I need to make this work" the list isnt too long, and doesnt involve stuff that is not easily gotten in Norm and NM. If you build expecting to have things from Hell then odds are you wont have them when you get to Hell and will have troubles.
