should i put dex on my sorcs?

I make sorcs but when i make them i only put the req str and the rest to vitality and i was wondering if i should start putting points to dex so she can block and survive but then i thaught that life better.. the sorc is used to mf and to rush... should i start puting dex so she has more block??? please answer with what you think about dex on her..

MF Sorcs don't necessarily need blocking, if you have a good connection and 105% FCR, but rushing Sorcs almost always need blocking. So I'd say yes, get as much blocking as you can. Some shields to aim for:

Screw SS.......ya sure it works, but not only is it not needed, it takes a lot of Dex for Max Block.

Whitstans and Wizzy.......go go go! I think it only takes like 146 Dex at like 90 for Max Block where the SS is in the 220-240 range I think and is also rather expensive or tuff to find.

With the Wizzy/Whitstans/Viper you "almost" cover your rez in Hell, only need very minimal Strenght like 60 or so....DIDNT LOOK, thus total stats needed to spend other than Vita are about 210 and with SS it will take 133 Str IIRC, and the big Dex.

PDR is nice to have but it is over rated, the things that kill most sorcs not are elments and piss poor hit recovery, low fast cast, or low life becasue they just HAD to have that SS but didnt have the charm base to make up for the life.

i agree with stinger.

IMO you are better off with 60% FHR and high vit / mana with a good ES and 105% fcr.

also, i dont think that you need blocking on a sorc that does rushes.

if you do decide to go dex, do go all the way. don't go half way and be like "dangit this is costing too much dex" and stop. that will be a waste of everything after that first point into dex.. either go ALL THE WAY or stay home. same goes for other characters like elemental druids and maybe a hammerdin... not sure because i've never tried a hammerdin before.. btw, how good will they be if i try one?

75% block aaaaaaaaaall the way. Even if only doing meph runs. Whitstans guard off course. SS = Big waste.

105% fcr will NOT save you from beeing hit by fast minions. Now, if these are mana burned fanaminions then ud be dead without block. And it WILL happen.

woot, echoing all sentiments above. my sorcy used to run around with a whistans, wizzie, and viper for the longest time. with wizze/viper, she hits first bp on fast cast, and has good resists. and the pdiamond whistans is affordable and very effective. getting 75% block with a whistans is very easy, so it allows for the best of both worlds- high life AND max block (where ss doesn't without plenty of vita charms).

tal's belt or gloom's belt or nightsmoke
nat's boots or aldur's boots or other rare boots with faster r/w and resists, maybe mf
frosties (don't leave home without em)
rare gambled circlet with +1 sorcy skills and resists or mana (or pcrown, rockstopper, tarnhelm, whatever you got or can find/gamble)
rare +skill/mana/resist/mf ammie
rare mana/resist/mf ring
bahamut's ring (lots of mana)

str about mid 60s (unless you go aldur's boots which require more)
dex about 145 for max block
energy- BASE. Drink pots! they do the body good. Seriously. There's NO reason you need any energy with this build, especially if you go orb, but also for bliz. You might run into teleporting problems, but if you get too low, drink a pot!

and you're done! nice and easy, very survivable, and gets you lots of uber items.

If its a mepher go for max block and one point e-shield, max telekin or 17 points, look it up in the sorc guides. If however she is a rusher, no e-shield no telekin but instead max all lightning synergie's and max block, rest in teleport.

Edit: all sorc's need 1 point in warmth.
