Is this new runeword completely useless, or is it just me? And at the cost of a Sur rune!

I guess it could be kinda OK for a FrostZealot or HolyShocker, but other than that...

Seeing from the stats... I don't think it's that great of wep... since the only chars that might be willing 2 use this would be either a pally or barb..

and IMHO - it's a total waste of a SUR....

plus the fact that you will have 2 wait until lvl 61 - to be able 2 equip this item....

100% frost/shock pala wep. Useless for anything else. -50% def is nice tho.


It'd be great if there were more spell effects on it prehaps : Like lvl 50 Hurricane (no syns) when you put it on 100% chance of lvl 20 tornado being flung when hit etc...

Its nice to see blizzard start to do things that they said they would do when they origionally released LOD....only took them 2 or so years.

Unfortunately it looks like they still haven't placed much effort into balancing them with regards to runes used, character level and where abouts in the game they would be at that level.

heh yeah honor is like better in every way and dirt cheap. Its so cheap it makes walmart look like Nieman Marcus.

Honor is one of the most expensive runewords I've made. Of course I made it before I had found shael or higher. :D

Other than several Rhymes and Smokes, I haven't made any other runewords. I did make 1 copy of Wealth as well for my gold-find javazon.

The uber items are just too expensive and require impossible runes for casual players ---- unless you resort to trading for duped runes, something I refuse to do.

Blizz needs more useful words in the range of Rhyme and Smoke. They need to make more runewords that are very attractive but not godly, and whose runes aren't impossible to get. IMO any runeword that requires higher than Ist is basically out-of-the-question for any casual gamer to obtain (without trading for duped runes of course).

The problem is I have 8 characters that are higher than lvl 70, and essentially I can only equip one or two of them with decent gear. I have lots of runes below Um (and 1 ist), but there's basically no good runewords to support my runes. So they just sit on a mule.

I usually can get a good supply of runes up to sol and maybe a little higher doing NM countess runs. its takes some discipline and time since yes 90 % of the time she drops utter crap like tir or below. but statistically if the ATMA program is to be believed she has a 1 in 100 chance of dropping pul or better. thats 1 out of 100 KILLS not 1/100 rune drops. But yeah youll find like an anm or a sheal every ten or 15 runs and if your char does it really fast that can add up fairly quickly.

Thats why to me honor is pretty much easy to get. I made it in a phase blade the other day. Similar damage to bloodletter, usable earlier,DS, +1 skills... very nice runeword for chars in the high 20's until better becomes available. And no, by better I DONT mean wind. :lol:

I preferred etheral threshers, but to each his own.

This runeword looks pretty crappy, with that invested Sur rune you can certinly buy yourself a better weapon.

Its sad how true you are Rah. Im starting to long for the days of GW.
And whats more besides the rediculous cost, lvl req, and crap stats, they still havent fixed the tppk which could be fixed how easily? you pres hostile button...it pauses for 5 secs and then it activates...THATS COMPLICATED

Yea, I've been alpha testing it since early March this year. Lots of fun, and rather interesting with balance changes.

We find exploits, abuse them to see how bad they are and report them. We abuse as many skills as we can in pvp in an effort to get them balanced. If you played the E3 demo you'd have seen the results of this effort in the skills. sometimes balancing one skill will require balancing more skills so its a tricky process.

is this really true? for NM? i'm somewhat surprised, maybe i should be running nm countess with my sorc instead of hell countess with my barb...

well cooner like I said its if you believe the atma program. :lol:

When i was running her with my sin the best runes I got there were a couple of sheal and a sol that didnt even drop from her personally. That was probobly like 40-50 runs.

Most efficient runner for her IMO is a level 45+ holy shock paladin. Reasoning is you can load up with MF gear and every time you pass some monsters they die. so I used to run it with the alt key held down and I got all sorts of useful set and unique items in between the good runes.
