So I was doing Baal's minions with a skelliemancer friend in a laggy game. Really laggy. So laggy, in fact, that we SKIPPED Ventar and his pack, and Lister and his minions appeared at the same time my 6.5k life bar dropped to about 100. Frantically juved and tried to run, then to save and exit, then finally smashed the power button on my comp. Never saw the deeds screen, but Apex is now a ghost. His ghost is currently #67 on the druid ladder. His deeds of valor may not be remembered, but bnet's dupelag certainly will. Grrrrrrrr. He rises again next season!

I was levelling with my Singer and three teammates through hell and when we finally hit act 5 and had taken care of Shenk I called it a night. On the next day I was informed, that all three had died within 10 minutes and that RDA-Goodguy has to wait before completing act5. All three had continued to play, the sorc ran into some Lightning immune baddie ( don´t know what ) and he one hitted her. The other two wanted to save her loot but the necro got to close to where the action was, so there were two casualties already. The assa had a hard time to get the lightning immune critter away from the corpes, managed to loot and decided to call it a night. She only wanted to to one last nightmare CS run, came to close to a fire enchanted boss and the death explosion made her victim number three.

Stumbled on a group of frenzytaurs with fanaticism aura. Tried to run away, cast a decoy onto em but they werent interested in it, they wanted ME. I got hit once or twice, juved, got hit a couple of more times, died. They mustve done 600-800 dmg per hit.

Cause of Demise: My untwinked Fire/Summon Druid was crushing everything in SP (players8). I had been lucky with drops (2 fissure, 2 os pelt!) and was feeling confident going into Diablo's lair...

I cleaned up all the Seals and even had a mana regen shrine nearby for the big battle. It was easy at first, D was just sitting there ice-fisting a few of my wolves (which I resummoned) while I volcano'd him and my merc nailed him. Then he started using that LBOD again and again. All my minions died and he zapped my oak. Merc bit the dust. I resummoned and proceeded to keep him bottled up. A few fire novas later he had busted out, killing all minions but my bear. And here is where it went bad...I had just volcano'd him[4 second delay] from the edge of the screen when slam(!) the bone prison went up around me! Diablo name lock! Time froze for a second as I realized the implications of this...and watched Diablo charge at me...my bear valiantly tried to get in his way and even managed to swing at him, while I tried to hack my way out of the prison using Sander's wand...D stops right when he gets to me and decides, of ALL the attacks he has, to use the LBOD.

I hit a red pot, then as I saw the bottom dropping out of my health, hit a full juve. No dice. Deeds.

So...it seems Diablo is gg. Prison from off screen, charge, LBOD all in the span of about 1 second...

Losses: nothing really, except my pride. Dead in normal. Oh and sander's wand :)

I decided to try running Nihlathak for dkeys, since I needed a torch. I didn't have bo, but I did have 1400 life, max resists, max block, and 30% damage reduction. I tested his corpse explosion and found that at most he could do half my life, so I figured I could drink full rejuvs, no problem. So I carefully cleared out all his minions, then got into his face and began to hammer away. That was when I noticed he was both fire and lightning immune. He only had time to spawn one minion, which died immediately from the storm of hammers. Then, in an incredible feat of timing, he cast corpse explosion at the exact moment he died, and -- you guessed it -- he was fire enchanted / lightning enchanted bugged -- just enough to bring up the deeds screen. Oh, and no dkey either. First HC char loss and it hurts.

My 'zon was merrily solo ing River & CS in Hell advancing as i usually do; spraying FA's into the distance to freeze solid potential attackers...curse triggers from offscreen baddies i'm hitting (the Pit Lord boss in the pic, not a threat)...no biggie i'm miles away...merc runs off to intercept...meanwhile...Valk decides to go to the right and bring the unsavoury Urdar in the pic...man...he biffs me a good one...life drops to a sliver as i'm cursed...press full Juves and retreat...he bypasses my Valk and backs me into the corner to the left of the pic...i'm somehow mana burned again so try to shoot but nowt happens...quick...bypass him and run to spot i fell where i tried to S&E...he's walking towards me...slo-mo me scrambling on buttons...next hit from him when cursed was a one-hit KO...damn Valk...that was the safest build i have ever made...as long as i had mana :cry:

Around 18 months ago, I had made a untwinked Telsadin from scratch, and it was without a doubt, the most successful build I done for the gear he had (aka - rubbish ;)), I felt untouchable till he bit the dust at 82.

So after playing WoW hardcore till now, I'm growing bored with it, and decided to use my Diablo II cd for something other than putting my cup on ;) I re-kindled my desire for HC mode...boy I forgot how fun it was. I got through normal mode easily enough, by act2 I had all resists at atleast 50ish. I just left the Arcane Sanctuary, used the portal and started clearing. Half of my screen was covered with those beetle like mobs infront of me, next thing I know, I was dead...I have no idea how it happend :hanky:

Oh well, building a safer class this time...Fishymancer is 24 and going strong :thumbsup:

So silly. I was running NM Baal with ease and for some nice loot. I wanted to get Den and Radament quest for 2 more points into some curses so I created a Hell game with a password for myself. I walk out into the Blood Moor with a Bonesnap, Skystrike and some other uniques from my NM Baal running that I did not bother to mule. See where this is going?

Anyway, I get the Cold Plains WP and continue on. I end up Amped and 75% life so I drink a rejuv instead of TPing to town to cure Amp. A super unique archer and her minions are the last thing I see alive. 10 Skeletons and a Bada** merc could not save me from myself. Onward!

Since I could not find people to trade my skillers with, I decided to make games on Hell with my countess runner named: O PalaC N O1, 2, etc

I managed to trade my Pala combat skiller this way, I then made a game O PB Skiller1. A 88 Sorceress joined, I said Hi. Reply: I am just here to MF not to trade. (I did not go Town, nor did I have a Portal Open) I continue to teleport to Tower lvl 5. I am fighting the Countess, I did not kill any minions in Black Marsh, nor did I party. I hear the hostile sound & Deads, see the BMPK add, and congrats the guy who killed me. It is beyond me why Blizzard never fixed TPPK. It ruins the whole idea of HC for me.

This was a base vitality build, with less than 400 life. The irony of this is that having gotten half way through hell act 3, I thought this char could help another one first drop NM baal. On only the 3rd or 4th run, this happened. I've hel'ed the buri, so even more points can go into dex on the rebuild. Doubt I'll be able to do pure dex, with base str and vit, but I know what the end gear will be, so can plan much more accurately than this build.

Basically, a bad spawn right on top of the crystalline passage WP while trying to do my Hell Anya quest, it was a FE/CE/ES assailant boss and all his minions that diced me to pieces before I could react. My friends were around so they looted my kira's guardian, lionheart, buriza, etc, and gave me an e-hug :P The irony is that I invested all my trading towards building up my resistances to max in Hell, and I got killed by phys damage :D

Was starting games with my Bowa who was using to perm games for my first drop Meph sorc. Decided to try out Pindle. Instead of running straight up to him I decided to try to kill all the skellies that come to life…. Big mistake! Beware of their charge on hell! Especially if you are a fragile type. I had ~800 life and one slipped by my valk/merc/decoy and CHARGE-BOOM deeds. They can do upwards of 800 dmg in one charge!

Only losses worth a mention might be Harmony, Treachery and Raven. All will be replaced in time. I think I’ll wait until I can make Silence for my Medusa zon before creating her next time.

This is my first First HC death report, despite previous deaths of Tele-orb-sorc that I tried to make (mostly died at lvl 20). This is rather heartbreaking because I found my first most valuable item - Occy - with my lvl 77 blade fury sin (nm meph mf runs). I decided to wear it on my 'finally successful' tele-orb-sorc that made her way very strongly past normal and nightmare act 1 and 2 till lvl 51. I played defensively throughout the act 3 running from the Spider Forest to Travincal in the same game. But, I really never expect the corpse explosion from the death of the first unique council I killed, can take my full life of 550 to 0 with 61% energy shield (telekinesis 16 lvls invested) and adequate amount of mana (about 200+). If I remember correctly corpse explosion deals 50% fire damage. I shouldn't have delayed socketing my unique grim shield with a p diamond. sad... guess I have to continue my play with sin... sad...

I was carefully fighting a FE archer boss on my way to Hell Countess not paying enough attention to notice the fact that it was actually two boss packs. So when the FE is about to pop I walk away a bit and start whacking the nearest archer which turned out to be a FE/CE boss.
The 65% CB on my 5 hit uninterruptable Zeal worked really well... POP! and at virtually the same time my merc toasts the FE... POP!

Cause of demise: Was doing what I thought was going to be a little light MF'ing and leveling in Act 2 Lost City, along with my trusty Act 3 Cold Mage merc. Ran into a triple boss pack of Assailants, Zombies and Saber Cats (the ones with the whips)... not exactly sure of what the boss attributes were but at least one of them was Cursed and Extra Fast, screen lagged ever so slightly and I was both Amped and surrounded, basically must have missed a block or a rejuve (or been hit in between juvies) as poor old Don_Keyes had successfully fought off this kind of threat many, many times before. :sad2:

Lost a GA, lowish LS, half decent Pally circlet and miscellaneous other mid-range gear (mostly crafteds and yellows). Biggest loss was that I hadn't used one of his Socketing quests. However, Don_Keyes rides again... he has been reborn on US East as a Ladder Season IV as a Tesladin. :thumbsup:

Hell Baals were over, got to use my full Tal's set for the first time (after finding a Gul rune in the KTA run and trading for armour and amulet, only other decent rune I have is Mal, all self-found) and I was kicking some bootaay...wanted my smiter to feel the same way so I made 'N Heavens' with 'O Um' in the description to complete his getup...no one is biting and by now I have run Meph, then Andy, so I decide to start on WSK2...someone joins! 'gelpm' (with acc name same name) immediately flashes up 'i run tunnel mf'...now, even though the missus had made me watch a chick movie before I could get on the game I was in a good mood and didn't care that his presence and non-trading attitude might ruin my trade potential...I replied with 'go for it dude'...re-enter tp...instadeath...
I fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book, due to me thinking that people on at the later hours would be the mature and somewhat older gamers like myself and this guy was like me; needed any opportunity he could to get levels/items due to limited time or he just plain didn't have any friends...script hack to kill, usual flashscript of "<yourchar> is a noob, ezpk kkthxbai" but the part that intruiged me the most was "visit us at www.bmpk.us" that came up afterwards...
I've heard of BlueMoon, but I was under the impression they were legit PK'ers who didn't use hacks and cheats...oh well, i'm back to square one again, but only in terms of getting a char up to that level again (which is a pain in the preverbial as I get **** all time on the damn game!!) as I have Shako, Viper etc to cover it 'til I get another set but man...a whole website advertising 'gg' PK Stats when the people obtaining them are a bunch of pathetic cheaters?!? First off, I'm not 100% sure that this character was KIA. At the moment he would perhaps be better listed as MIA. Here is what happened . . . I had walked to A3 of Hell without any problems and was reveling in my power when my CPU started making strange gurgling noises. I was considering quitting and then all of a sudden a pack of Thorned Hulks (with at least one unique . . . stats unknown) appeared on the screen near my merc. My merc died in an instant and the next thing I knew the Thorned Hulks had warped across the screen, right on top of me! My 2300+ life was cut to fifth before I knew what had happened but I managed to save and exit (or so I thought). After I clicked on S&E the screen froze as the CPU continued to gurgle so while I waited I took a screen shot of my diminished health and the brutes that had done it. Then at last the computer decided that I had in fact exited and spat me out on the menu. Once there I noticed that my characters picture (the one in the lower left) was blank, but I wasn't too concerned as I still had the option to join or make games. Curious as too just how much life I had lost, I then proceeded to make a game . . . but got an error message I had never seen before. I exited out to the character selection screen and noticed that Conqueror of_Gods' picture was missing there too. When I selected the character and went back to the menu it then showed that I could now no longer make of join games. In short, there was no corpse ever recovered but I am confident enough that Conqueror of_Gods is dead to post this here (though I still hold out some hope that the blank image slot might someday be restored to the image of the Druid that I had so much fun playing with). Until then, rest in peace Conqueror of_Gods . . . wherever you may be.

Stupidity reigns...just tested this dude out on the Ubers and he walked it...I was so happy that I only had to use 4 mana pots to Baals drain and smashed them down in a matter of minutes!
My mate (Tal's CL/FO) said he was gonna trade for some keys to do it again so me n my other mate (IK WW) went down to muck around in WSK...my other mate decided to come down as well in the end and in the Throne the OK's were around...they weren't dying too quick and me standing around running Cleansing felt redundant so I went toe to toe with the pack so that they would Decrepify me, which they did, but the pack re-shuffled a bit further down the alley so the 2 steps forward I took to catch up meant the one at the back took 2 steps back (no Paula Abdul jokes here people!) and as I swung he cast IM...I thought I was still close enough to get them to do the 'emergency Decrepify' proc but I guess they had it in for me after taking down their hardest evil minions with no sweat!
Least I got loot...just means re-building!

Cause of demise: I was fighting a pretty nasty boss pack in the catacombs on my way to Andy. When my health got 3/4 of the way down I quickly made a portal to avoid dying. As I'm leaving a lvl 11 Amazon who had hostile me 20 minutes earlier shot a few arrows at me and stopped me dead in my tracks. Had I opened that portal a split second earlier I would've missed the arrows and still be alive. When I asked the zon what happened, he said he'd been bored and that he spent all that time looking for me just to kill me in his boredom. The only thing that could've prevented this was to play hardcore SOLO. I never understood what insane lengths people go through just to screw another person over.

This is my first HC death that i feel is worthy of being posted here. Let me set the scene for you, I joined a friends game and whilst he was questing his sorc in act 3 I quickly made my way to baal to get a little more exp and hopefully some nice loot, all was going fine, Baal and his minions went down fine, no problems at all. My friend then asked if I would kill meph for him which I promptly did. I then thought "well I have started now so I may as well finish" so I decided to help my friend quest up to act 5. I tore through every area with ease, even the gloams in the frozen river couldnt drop my health by 1. Next up, The Ancients, all started well, Talic went down pretty easy, my friend kept Korlic busy while I sent a nasty barrage of Charged strikes at Madawc, next thing I know deeds screen, How could I have not noticed he was fire enchanted?!?

Having just got all the items I needed for an Uber run together I though I would put some levels onto the mightly paladin, everything was going swimmingly - no major hassles at the WSK - last wave Lister and Co came strolling over - My merc was dealing massive damage as I had worked on him (levels and kit) quite a bit and me and him were doing well

Then deeds......... from 100% ok - to dead, seems in the melee of death Lister had spawned FE for kicks and was using it, so I guess he had the last laugh, so close to smiting thy Ubers kid..... maybe your offspring will one day..................

Cause of demise: Kaxe, some other guy and I were doing Baals. I was idling with the barb on the Notebook in a corner to get some XP for him aswell and the last wave was almost done, when I heared the nasty swinging sound of Deathlords on the Notebook. Merc was already down ( took them a second or so ), Soundcheck was sourrunded by them and couldn´t reach the TP. I tried to S&E but hit the options screen. Thank god I could loot the SoJ and BK of him, but loosing the Anni, a Torch ( Ama 20/15 ), 2x 14 allres GC and merc gear sucks. RIP Soundi ...

Failing to kill Duriel I tried some tombrunning to gain a level or two. It all went well until I stomped in to a room full of those blasted lightning beetles. With arrows everywhere and a crazy act 2 merc the air was thick with lightning. My amazon died seeing the light. RIP ArticArcher

Cause of demise: I had just finished to rush Soundcheck through Hell and thought it might be a good idea to do some Baals with my Hammerdin. A room full of OKs and witches ended my cruisade. I saw a might aura, a lot of red balls and maybe I got cursed, don´t know. It was over to fast. 3.5 k life, max block all res at 90% exept fire at 95, 25% DR and he went down in no time. I was so shoked that I left the game, came back with the necro to clear only to realize, that my corpse was gone since I had left. Again an expensive death. Loosing Guardian Angel, Shako and HoZ is a pain, loosing a selffound Dungo 40/15 is :cry: He will not be rebuild, at least not in the near future, as I´m running out of gear.

I was clearing out the OK's with Ivan's CL/FO Tal's sorc so my mate Tom could Smite away at Uber Izual and he came charging out from behind the pack all of a sudden...he chased us down and I came to a wall, I stopped and figured if I stay here and take a hit from him it will take the heat off of the others so we can re-position and renew the attack...think I seem to have wigged out there and as he came charging at me in his super-speed I realised only too late who I was (as my Merc n Valk went down to IM/Amp just before he broke through the pack and I usually play my IK Barb and zerk my way through the Furnace)...to say it was a one-hit KO was an understatement...I mean cmon, the chick was a glass cannon; she only had something like 646 life!! Oh well, a really good character to play for the Furnace, but I won't be rebuilding her anytime soon as I just plain don't have the time!

Was playing some baalruns and leveled from 27 to 42 and thought ti was a nice team.

Cause of demise: There was a Hammerdin, a Javazon and my barb. We we're walking the WsK for experience and fun until we hit the throne room.
Level 3 had the usual mass doll/oblivion knight stair trap, but that didn't slow us up much.
The throne....was nasty. Tons of dolls everywhere, blessed hammers flying around popping them, Lightning Fury streaking across the screen.
I knew that this moment would define whether my barb would be a true berserker or not..
He charged ahead, into the dolls and Oblivion Knights and didn't come back...

This one made me cry - 2nd last wave had just appeared - and i started laying the smackdown - screen paused maybe 2 secs - I suddenly found myself in the middle of Lister and co!?! :sad2: :shocked:
