Please note if you are hosting a game in this thread where RWM is not actually installed on the host, so people don't waste runes trying to make a ladder runeword in game.

I'm still trying to open ports, due to my router not responding to me trying to access it. The router works fine, but just shuts down to user access or something. :/

Anyway, I haven't begun Act 5, and IIRC you're one of the few people who can host :grin:
So maybe just start from Shenk and move on getting exp from there?

I think the times are now correct -2 hours, so I'll be ready in at most ~1.5 hours from now? A show I'd like to watch is on in 10 minutes.

Sure, but can you host? the only chars I could rush with would be chars that have already completed the quests... :undecided:

These are some steps i've written for those of you without a network router.
I will add steps later for those with a hardware router if there is enough interest.

Here are some tips to help you set it up if you aren't sure and you use WINDOWS.
1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall
2. If Off is selected then skip to step 5. If Yes is selected, continue.
3. Choose the Exceptions tab.
4. Click Add Port.

In Name put "Diablo2TCP" or something along those lines.
In Port number put "6112"
Select TCP
Click OK

5. Repeat step 4 but replace all TCP with UDP.
6. Click OK, and open your internet browser.
7. Go to this site (http://www.whatismyip.com) and copy the IP Address.
8. Post the IP Address here :wink:

If heard people say they can't host because of 'taint', what does that mean and do I need to be concerned?

Taint refers to any dodgy play as far as I know, that is people who you don't trust perhaps they dupe, or hack or use trainers etc.

I find that this community is based upon trust, and I hate the idea of that trust being broken or lied about hence why I love the community, everyone is friendly and pretty often genuine.

This and a lot of people also play self-found, that being they don't take items from trades, or multiplayer. It is only an issue if you think it's an issue, and if you're worried just don't pick up items in the game.

Again this is just what I think it is, I could well have taken the wrong end of the stick figuratively speaking. :azn:

I'd heard people refer to RWM and RRM taint and I thought that maybe if they were installed you were unable to host or somethign (which would make this thread a little odd :wink3: ) but as it is there's no need to worry because other than the trades I've done on the Single Player trading forum I've played self-found.

Anyway, the game is up and my sorc is sitting in the pandemonium fortress, have you had any luck getting into the game?
