I think this deserves a thread of its own. I'm not sure if there's going to bee so much lld's going on that it will bneed to be replaces every few months, but if it proves that way I admit I was wrong making this thread and ask a mod to make a thread instead :tongue:
Anyway, anyone up for some level 18 duels? I got a (afaik) new build I want to try out.

Sure. A ladder or someting would be nice, but I think we should get it up and running first. But I think many people would just play outside it as well, since if it's a ladder or a competition, it has to get serious, and lld if often about fun and trying stuff out, etc.
If someone wonders the final score was probably about 10~15 : 2~3 to zhao, he has a very solid build, while I was trying my out for the first time (You gotta blame something right? :wink3:)

edit: btw, this really belongs in the otehr lld thread (the one with the rules) but since I already made a post that's still edit'able: How do you all feel about death's gloves being banned vs psn builds? Personally I think it's a good idea in teh ground, death's hand renders all possible psn chars useless. I might think banning such a common item would annoy many people though, since everyone would have to carry around extra sigons and put in the str to use it unless they wanna use naked hands vs psn charms.

my kicker is done and ready, i got 2 druids nearly ready, and playing round with ideas for a few others. (im going for quanitity over qualitity :P)

Are there any build guides for LLD anywhere? I can make some chars but dont really know where to assign skill points. But I guess the level is so low that it doesn't really matter. (Did I answer my own question?) :smiley:
As for a ladder, an idea for challenges is that a player can only challenge within 2 places of their position. Example: DaveW is ranked 1, Zarf is ranked 4 and Installed is ranked 5. Installed can challenge Zarf but not DaveW as he is more than 2 places adrift ( and DaveW would probably school his a** anyway hehe).

You sort of did. If you google you might be able to find a couple guides. I know of at least one lvl 9 TS Sin guide. It's decent but it's only viable with a G-Rush. But, from the bit of vLLD/LLD dueling I did on b.net with self found gear the more viable builds tended to be Kickers/TSers/Chargers/Zealers and other melee builds. Depending on just how well you twink 'em you can build pretty good characters. The key components to aim for, from my understand are: As high life as you can get, as much block as you can get, high damage over the shortest period of time possible, AR, defense and probably the only important resists are Light/Fire. Based on the restrictions I don't see sorcs being a problem. Being rather skill dependent and all.
I liked it for novelty sakes for than anything else. Glitch abuse is fun and entertaining. Charms are extremly helpful.

Just to let you all know, I have a build planned (finished by level 9!) if I can get a Hell Rush that is LOL. But also that I am having hosting problems. When the hosting is sorted I would like to get some LLD going. My Assassin is gonna kick your a** in! :mask:
If I understand it correctly, chars are not allowed to go past Act2 normal for level 18 LLD. I don't know for level 9 chars.
@DaveW: For level 18 duelling we have set the limit to what quests you are allowed to do to quest 1, act 2 (ie normal radament), so you are not allowed to hell rush yourself if you plan on playing it after the rules found here. (http://forums.diabloii.net//showthread.php?t=576505)
We haven't started up any other divisopn than level 18 atm, so you might have troubles finding any opponents. I suggest you go to level 18 and follow the rules in the rules in the thread. Not that you aren't allowed to host a game with you own rules, noone can forbid you of that, but I think not many people will join up, since the majority will probably play by the rules we've created, for a more fun/balanced/new plwyer welcoming, lld scene.
I'm looking forward to seeing your char on the moor :wink3:
@all: I'd prefer if we keep the chit chat and otehr stuff in the other thread, I created this for the purpose of hosting LLD's, so I'd prefer if rules, builds and etc were discussed in the other thread to avoid confusion. Thanks.

While wer'e at it, someone's interested in either of the following later today, maybe in 30 minutes- 1 hour?
a)make new chars (getting a un-stat/skill'd char is alot easier/funnier if you're in a party.
b) some level 18 lld, I wanna try my smiter against other people.

I'd be willing to start a character up and play with you until you reach level 18 but I highly doubt I'll bother dabbling in PVP regardless of the level restrictions any time soon. Maybe once I have a few MFers under my belt. You'd have to host though.

Edit 2: That's your local IP address used for a LAN network or something like that. Somebody explained it to me but my memory is crap. That IP address doesn't work online.

This isn't my scene (pvp), however i'm a network engineer, that is your local ip (192.168.2.2), it is based upon your router, I assume that following on that pattern the access IP for your router would be something similar to 192.168.2.1.
The reason diablo says that's your IP is because you are part of a network and that is your local IP.
As TouchOfInsanity suggested www.whatismyip.com would give you your outbound IP, if it still doesn't work with your outbound IP then you need to open ports 6112 TCP/UDP on your router IIRC.

I'm seeking some advice, I'm thinking of a mauler to suit my nice +3 bear +3 lycan pelt. I've toyed with the idea of going for as much life as I possibly can, but then it struck me, how will I deal any damage then?
So how should a level 18 mauler deal some nice damage? Khalims will is atm the weapon of choice.

well the plan for my mauler is using jewls of cranage, 2 in sheild(bonesheild of deflecting) helm with 3,
kalims with one and socket my second twitch with another. and there is no worry bout tankyness with my rubbish charms im getting over 1k life

Hey, I'm looking to actually make a char finally and was wondering what levels you guys are so I'd know what build and items to get.
We do LLD at level 18, with the quest restriction to radament in act 2 normal :wink3:
