PvP Blizzard merc & gear?

I'm a defensive Blizzard sorc and I was thinking about the a1 merc. Would this be a good choice?

Also what gear?

act1 rogue is probably more useful than act2 merc as a blizzard sorc.
For gear.. hm..

If this is a for random pubbing then you might want to try to use a wrath bow. Decrep or lifetap going off will make most pubbers run to town.
