Shopping for < lvl30 dueling armors - advice?

Been shopping anya for a killer armor for my lld (lvl 30) for nearly 3 hours total now and have not gotten too far. Closest was a +79 life +20 mana mage plate, which may get 2os if I try (forget exactly how that works again).

Since I am looking for a lvl 30 or less armor is seems that shopping hell with a character other than my lvl 91 pally is advantageous, but how to I calculate the ideal/min level to shop with? My lvl 30 seems to get items in the lvl 3-15 range, and my lvl 66 seems to get items in the 10-45 range (this seems like my best bet, if only I hadn't spent 2 hours with my pally first).

Life seems to be the ideal mod matched with max sockets, but at this point I am looking for any decent second mod.

Also, any opinions about shopping larz with an uber portal vs. anya? Found a 3os crown with +8 to energy that I think I will use yet still trying to weigh out my options (still think I may hold out for a min/max, fhr, fbr, str or dex mod to marry those wonderful sockets).

Have really appreciated the helpful posts over the last few weeks. It is most of the reason I decided to start dueling. That’s +1 for the recruitment stats.

p.s. does this put me in the same boat as my wife when she goes out and spends all afternoon looking for the perfect shoes?

My advice is don't stop shopping. I've shopped for literally hours for a Artisan's Mage Plate of the Squid. If you think your search is fruitless, try that one. Keep shopping, before you know it you'll get an Artisan's Light Plate or Ancient Armor of the Squid. I've shopped 5 or 6 of these with little effort. Don't settle for a Life armor with second mod hoping for 2 sockets.

The crown you found really isn't worth using, as the 8 energy will amount to at best 24 mana for a char, which truly isn't worth it. I've shopped several Artisan's Crown/Grand Crown of Balance/Stability/whatever(10% FHR), and these are quite useful.

BTW, all of the life/artisan's armors that I've shopped were with a 91 char.

depending on the build there are other shopable armors that could be useful the one that springs to mind is a highdef/of ease ancient armor.

i'd personally shop anya and be sure to look at all the claws too.

throw some rare -15% req jewels in there with some other fun mods.

Shopped @ anya when i needed a decent trapclaw. But it will take some time before u have something worthy of buying

I always use anya because there is a possibility to get some nice claws also like 3traps/1-2-3ls etc, or 3shadow/3venom, or 3sox 40ias -30speed claws^^

Thanks for the advice all.

To date I have found a 3os light plate with 17%fhr, and I am looking at a -30%req and 75% ed ancient armor that I am not sure whether it is worth getting or not. I know someone earlier was mentioning a similar armor, just not sure this one qualifies as a high defense.

Any magical armor without the sox mod isnt worth buying.. So leave that ancient armor alone:D

The 3sox lp 17fhr isnt worth it, just keep on shopping and remember to check out the claws also

I dont have much trouble finding these items. But i guess when u need them, their not around.

That must be it, cause they are not showing up for me as of yet. I play on US East so we won't be able to work anything out.

I did find a 3os mage with 8 to strength, but my math tells me that those extra 8 points in vitality won't nearly add up to 70 or so life.

I will keep the faith. On with the shopping.
