CL/FO vs CB/FO Build

i'm planning on building a new sorc for mf...

can a CL/FO easy meph run?

which one is better(easier hehe)? CL/FO or CB/FO?

also, the guide for CL/FO sorc is not linked on the guides thread...

IMHO, CB > CL for MFing. Charged Bolt can do upward of 500 damage PER BOLT on a barely-twinked sorc, or over 800 on a twinked one. Using 500 as a baseline, multiply it by 24(# of bolts), then times 3(casts per second). That's 36k damage to a large target PER SECOND. Using 800 damage as a baseline, we get 57,600 damage per second. I now have seven Light sorcs, all in different stages of completion/gear and I honestly can't think of the last time I cast Chain Lightning.

Oh, and a moderately-twinked CB build will kill Meph in ~2 seconds(Infinity Merc).

then, my new mf sorc will be a CB / FO...

It's a mfer, then I'll use a tals armor, belt and ammy, isted gull, shako, war travelers, frostburns, (2 sojs or 1nagel and 1 soj?)

not sure about what shield I should use...

No. Read "The Truth About Tal's Set" in the Guide and Knowledge Library. ANY dual-tree sorc should use Tal's for the absolute PERFECT balance of MF, survival and most importantly, damage. There isn't a better setup for you. If you want more MF then the set offers on its own, add Gheed's, Travs, and SC's.

For the "ideal" setup, I'd use:

Tal's full set
Magefist/Trang's
Spirit(option #2 = Lidless)
2x SoJ(option #2 = 2x fcr rings)

This will give you 105 FCR whichever route you choose. This is IMO mandatory for spamming CB, and will make tele'ing MUCH safer.
