View Full Version : Diablo III Mega Wiki Page
I did some research over the weekend and put together a pretty good sized page of info about Diablo III. It's in our under construction D2 wiki, and contains every official word, a key event timeline, juicy rumors, Blizzard North information, and much, much more. There's even fake d3 box art for eye candy!
http://diabloii.net/w/index.php/Diablo_3
If there's anything I've missed, do let me know, or jump in and do some editing yourself; that's the whole point in having a wiki.

"Team 3 is working on something really awesome. I can’t give you any hints, but it’s totally awesome."
OMG!! they want people to go completely crazy or what :hang:
BTW, there are three domain names registered for France. They love french? :) More over there is mini Blizzcon coming on June 28-29. Diablo II was released on June 28 and Expansion on June 29
Last hopes for announcement ......
this is almost more than my heart can handle

There are a lot more domain names than the ones i've got listed now. I just threw those on at the last minute, after pasting them out of news items posted on this site in the 2003-2006 range. I'm hoping someone else will find the motivation to poke around netsol.com for a while and add in some of the many others Bliz/vivendi owns. I'll get to it eventually, but i spent all weekend on that d3 wiki page, and needed to get back to adding other d2 game content pages.
What blizzard is doing can be compared to if all the cigarette companies in the world just stopped selling cigarettes.
I don't really buy into this idea yet, but it would be nice.
And Heck it's nice just too see Flux again.

I think Mods visiting and even posting this frequently is definitely creepy. What's the point in making everybody enthousiastic all of a sudden? Just opening a Diii subforum is one thing, but spamming multiple threads (with similar content) by the same Mod is plain strange.
Are you sharing the same longing for Diii like most of the people here, up to the point you could only vent through this way or do you have a hidden agenda?
edit: lol @ Beelzebub

Hey, Gorny move over a little, I need to be able to get to CC's back, too.

Something is kinda weird about all these Mods and their fixation on CC's "back"...
However, I will back you up if it comes to a showdown. If that showdown is with Elly, I will run like a scared little girlie. I'm not getting banned over your accusations!
Pancake ... I'm right behind you regarding that scared little girly comment.
And I'm holding a very sharp pointy object ....

Thanks guys and girl. Now that I look back at my post, I meant Admins ofcourse. Good to know y'all are behind me, there's plenty of back for everybody.

I think Flux is just getting excited about the possibility of D3 due to his disappointment in Hellgate.
And maybe Elly has secret info she's shared with Flux. :hide:

I have two hopes for D3, one that it is free to play after purchase and two that it stays isometric using the StarCraft2 engine to boost the graphics.
I fear that they will go fully 3D thusly ruining the true feel and game play of the game and of course fully 3D games are very difficult for most peoples machines to run well consistently, especially with a game that will have assumed randomly generated levels and items. That is a lot of on-the-fly rendering and algorithms and frankly Hellgate:London pulls it off well but the game feels stale. There is something missing from that one and I can't figure it out. I like it but I don't LOVE it, like my off again on again mistress Diablo II.
The few things that I do like from Hellgate is the upgradability of the weapons and the drop system, where everyone gets there own. That feature alone would be nice to see in Diablo III, no more drop drama.
Anhow, my three cents.

I dunno what happened to the images. all the links were missing part of the URL, but no one had edited the page. I just clicked edit and resaved it and they fixed. computers = magic!

Hellgate london is missing good solid story and randomness in level design. Beautiful graphics is good for kids so they play game 10 mins and then just forget about it.
3D is definitely the way to go. Start save money now so you can buy new PC when DIII comes out. I will do that
not too bad not more then 50 for a more then capable video card, 40 for 2gb of ram and like 50 for a mother board to load it all into if yours can't handle it...if your lucky you can find a combo deal for a amd 64x processor to go with it and your set...else another 50 bucks for a 2.4 ghz dual core...if your lucky...I wasn't...then you won't need a new case or powersupply, else you can probably get both of those for like 130...powersupplies are never cheap...ick...all in all that only runs you about 300 for a fairly powrful machine...not going to set any records but it'll run near enough anything...and that doesn't even take into consideration overclocking at all...runs C&C 3 on a LAN game with max players just fine...
and if you have more then that laying around anywhere there are more then enough components to up...though RAM will likely be the last thing you'll need to boost...i would say if you can spend a little more on the motherboard for added support to more powerful other things...also nearly all mother boards come with a sound card so no need for one of those...

I was looking up some info some time ago about a few of the Diablo Creators
mentioned in the wiki. It seems Hyboreal Games dissolved into something called
UI Pacific, which then fell apart as well, (lost their financing or something), and
ultimately something came up called L5 Games.
L5 was picked up as developers for a Korean Gaming Corporation called
Gravity, who are now offering this game called Requiem Bloodymare. Don't
know much about it, but its some type of horror mmorpg.
Some of the Diablo Big shots at L5 games are Okamura, Sexton, & Vaught.

And Kelly Johnson, animator and designer of characters like the Paladin, Deckard Cain, the Fallen, the Fetishes, act 2 and 3 hireables, etc.

Thats the first word it cames to my mind when i see all this mutual spiritual uprising!
This time, i hope, we will see something more than fake boxes!
And i am starting spending money for a new machine from NOW!
Awesome addition. I have one of these myself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Tyciol/Diablo_III lol.

Only 40 people working on D2.
That rules out mmo.
So all you people worried about that relax.
