I'm curious I want to see some numbers.

I should specify, that while this is written in the context of this game, option 3 implies that in any similar game, if one class can teleport, then you are content to pick that class when you want teleport.

now...go ahead and vote, but come back and consider this: Is it teleport itself that is so evil, or is it the design of the game that makes people beleive it is a requirement?

Teleport is not "evil," merely overpowered (in its current state) as a means of transportation for any class.

i think that they should make it have a longer casting time, (maybe 0.5 seconds.), always be interrupted if enemy attempts attack, and not have fast cast applied to it. that would balance it in my opinion.

Of course most people will vote in favor for teleport but that doesnt matter. No one cant deny how powerful and useful teleport is and how fair it was to limit such mobility to one class, hence, Enigma came.

Personally I would like to see Diablo3 returning to the "survival-horror" esque of Diablo1, I would like to see stamina being something actually important and sprint (run) to be used just in panic situations, I like the subtely that Diablo 1 had and to me, teleport just throws that out of the window. Its there to make the player skip most of the game. Heh the player or the bot, because if teleport wasnt around boting would be much harder or pretty much impossible to happen.

If its back, with only the sorceress or the mage equivalent class having it, enigma will have to return? Blizzard might as well just remove it and balance the game without it, making boss runs not extremely long or short.

Certainly the community loves teleport even tho most cant see how detrimal to the game it really is.

Well, Diablo 2 IS hack'n'slash type of game. It doesn't have much in means of story (yes, if you dig, you can dig up some nice story facts, but they are pretty unimportand during the gameplay). The most satisfying thing is you can massacre hordes of monsters. In this case, Teleport is but a tool to get around quicker and to effectivitize (is this even a word?) the killing process. True, with the introduction of Enigma, it unbalanced the game completely. Still, I voted for the "sorceress should have it" option, since IMHO it's a fundamental skill for them. They are pretty frail characters, remember?

This pole was a good idea.

I voted that I am morally opposed to tele.

Now, I just want to point out that Blizzard designed the game EXTREMELY GENEROUSLY toward players. In fact, you can even manipulate the treasure that drops for you, so you can get more wealth with mf. You can join lev 95 parties with your little lev 6 character and have them do all the work for you. You can use MULTIPLE paly auras on your non-paly character AND your merc. You can have a lev one amp dam curse that doubles physical damage. You can spend all day listing more examples of how Blizzard has made D2 life so very easy for us.
And what do players do? They whine about how they need teleport so they can exploit Diablo and Baal faster. They whine that they can't mf properly without tele. They whine if they can't kill Diablo in 30 seonds. Aren't these people just being total cry babies? Do we players really need to be pampered further? Isn't normal and nm mode easy enough? Isn't hell mode supposed to be challenging and the struggle to find the top gear should be lengthy?

As I write this, the poll suggests most players voted that they just use a sorc if they want tele. This implies that people enjoy the original format of the game as it was meant to played. Most people, it seems, are good enough that they can use the game and it's rules to achieve their ends. The whole enigma take over was a big mistake; as pointed out, it has permitted baal botting. It also made dueling a joke (though some may argue this), and it makes lousy brat players able to exploit the game and brag at how great they are.
If players continue to get whatever they want, we will end up with a D3 where it rains hotos, eth hoz's, soj's, pfathoms, pCoa's, etc. These items would fill up the whole screen, and blaze spell leaves a trail of hrs instead of fire in the wake of your lev 20 barb using a blaze stick and tele stick runeword made out of 6 el's.

What everyone seems to be forgetting here is that other classes had teleport available to them long before Enigma, but nobody noticed/cared/abused it because it was just charges on jewelery, which means that you can only have a limited number of uses before having to recharge them (which in the long run becomes very expensive).

I think this idea is great, so that you have the ability to use tele, but have to weigh the consequences and conserve the amount that you use it.

enigma means hrs which means dupes...remove the runewords...problem solved...teleport should be slower and make it harder to just warp past everything...but still be fast enough to give an edge in a fight...being able to stay at range against even fast foes...i like the fragile effect of a sorc...insane damage and one or two hits to kill...lovely...

I liked it when it was just the sorc who could do it...apparently to many people complained so enigma was born. I defintely wouldnt mind if it returned for D3

I'm going for option three; I believe teleport should only be available to the Sorceress class. Or whatever the DIII equivalent of that is
