I hope they have less unique monsters running around. I like the idea of having uniques, but 10 in a single area makes them rather common in diablo 2. Aside from set bosses in the game I think there should be about one unique monster out of every 3000 or so normal monsters to make them truly unique. I also hope they are even more distinguishable from their minions as well perhaps in size or even unique shapes as well as the color difference(sometimes in d2 it's very apparent other times they nearly blend in). Most importantly I think the unique monsters should have several times the health of their minions for a longer battle so it will have a boss battle feel. I would also want always at least slightly stronger damage output as well. Of course they should also have higher odds of dropping goods just like the uniques in d2 though maybe slightly better drop rates than current d2 uniques to compensate for their rarity.

Actually, the super uniques in D2 were pretty rare. Yes, there was one in every couple of areas, but that kept things exciting. If you mean the randomly spawned uniques, they were never meant to be all that tough.
However, I'm with you on the basic principle of the matter. I want me some really huge, totally terrifying uniques to fight. If there is one around every corner, things get less amazing.

They will be there, I am sure. I mean unique mobs are second best place to get loot from, after bosses, and probably the most fun way of doing it. But I don't agree that they should make them rare, no. The more the merrier. And uniques must have deadly characteristic combos to put fear even in most geared players faces. My nick is referencing one all times favorite. Some other infamous denizens are frenzy(? that paladin red aura), extra strong minotaurs, extra fast, extra strong skeleton archers.
Hmm, I liked the frequency of Unique Monsters in DII. I don't think that should change.
However, I do think there should be another category all-together of REALLY unique, memorable, ultra-rare, larger-than-life monsters. That way, we'd have the best of both worlds: Semi-regular encounters with the unique monsters we're all accustomed to, but also extremely rare encounters with truly epic enemies. The kind you take screenshots of.

This is the basics of D2. Unique= more life, more dmg.
I agree with the size- The big monster in the preview is cool, but if you see these kind every 2 minutes Act bosses will loose their meaning. Unless they make them a half screen big, which would be cool and probably more realistic, but kinda bad.
pancakeman- I think he was talking about uniques, not Super uniques. And I disagree. I like the numbers in D2. Rare uniques in Normal, tons in Hell and very few Super Uniques. However, I think they should make the Super uniques bigger, so they'd be more terrefying and important.

unique monster are just bosses of a gang of monster i think its just like in real storie enemies have names like rakanishu lol :wave:
