Did anyone notice the elixer of willpower on the ground after the witchdoctor uses the 2nd wall of zombies then kills the next mosnter? Looks like we have a new stat (maybe). I wonder what it is. A replacement for Energy or something else?
My bet is a temp stat boost to "willpower" aka energy aka magic.

Probably a powerup of some sort... spells cost less mana, or you do more magic damage for an amount of time.

Willpower determines mana and fury, and possibly spell damage. The elixir could be permanent (like in D1) or temporary (like in Median).
I'm betting permanent, because a temporary +1 boost is... uh... useless?

I'm betting temporary, because a permanent +1 boost every time you drink a potion is uh... incredibly overpowered and will make the game very dull very fast.

It worked in D1, but then that had stat caps.
That was IMO one of the more pointless Hellfire additions, everyone was running around with maxed stats after a while.

if blizzard has a spellcaster stat like "energy" or "intelligence" then it must boost spell damage as you increase that stat such as how it works in titan quest
otherwise we'll have everyone walking around with base mana again

The original Diablo had elixirs so they were not added in Hellfire.

I think willpower might just mean that you get one last burst of stamina when your stamina bar runs out, or it could mean that once you are very close to death, you go into a rage and deal more damage.
Willpower could also be a resistance against Witch Doctor magic? :)
The word willpower in other RPG's is always associated with magic/mana/energy. While you may be grasping at the interpretation of the literal meaning of the word, I doubt it will be related to any of that in the actual game.
And I agree, permanent stat increases are very shortsighted in this day and age of RPG's. Also, who's to say that the elixirs only at +1 stat? Minor ones may add +5 for a temporary interval, and have greater/super versions, as in D2, that add more. Either way, I don't find the elixir idea all that exciting. At best, they'd be used religiously by hardcore pvpers. Or for the casual player, used whenever one decides to pop out of a monster.
