I used to play hardcore and before i quit D2 (in 1.09) I remember having a mule full of nothing but other players ears, lol. My horadric cube was full of lvl 99's haha. If there is a Hardcore mode i hope they give out a little trophy for a person you killed, like the ears!!

id prefer eyes personally. they are squishy and make a nice sound

While ears were cool, I'd love it they built on the idea and actually made them mean something.
Maybe a "Hardcore Ear Ladder" keep track of the total number in level of ears you have, and perhaps give a place where can keep a near unlimited amount of ears.

Yes indeed, like some sort of ranking.
Allthough they have to make sure that it means something when you acquire an ear :P
so that a possible ranking would also have meaning,.

Collect 5 lvl 99 ears to get an extra skill point.

Collect ears or some kind of body part. Then just take them and get them crafted into an item.
Can we say FACE MAIL? It would give you a passive fear ability.
How about if the ear of a level 99 barbarian would be a charm giving +99 (+1/level) to Attack Rating or something. That way people would collect ears to improve their characters. Ears obtained in Hardcore mode would give more powerful buffs since it would make the true Hardcore players actually risk their characters in battle to obtain powerful buffs. This would need some work to not lead to griefing though. I wouldn't want to loose my HC characters in a PK surprise attack but in a fair duel.
I definitely think ears should have some sort of purpose... they'd have to make it so you'd need a BUNCH of them though, reg ones. HXC ears should definitely be more powerful. How about being able to gamble with them for items, but there's a higher chance of getting uniques or sets?
And I agree, they need to make a better way to duel then the whole waiting at the edge of town ****.

A reward would be nice and the idea of gambling with better odds sounds good. If it was for buffs, it could lead to some unbalanced chars in HC, fun ony if it's you.A necklave of ears on your char would bs nice, but only if it really showed.

Ears should remain as they are. Trophies.
Pvp should be for pvp's sake. Just like hardcore. No incentive at all to pvp, just good ole fun.
I agree that ears should just be trophies, that said, you should have a trophy case or something with unlimited room for your ears.

Ears should not drop. They should be a display somewhere that is loaded automatically...That way in SC there's no ears strewn about, and in HC you don't have to worry about some one snatching your rightfully earned face bit.
You should be able to eat the ears like potions. Yum!
Keep the ears, they were fun. They are those things that must stay in the game even though they are useless. Ears, Exploding cows, people hanging. Pretty much similar WC and sheep.

I think that you should be able to pick what body part your want to keep, so that if I kick your *** I can at least keep a cheek :).
It would also give a whole new meaning to the phrase, kicking butt. :thumbup:
