Good idea or bad idea? I know plenty of people will whine that its too WoW like, but for a short stint there were orange crafted items in d2 and I think it would add a deeper dimension to the item fetishness. As long as they put in a randomness to it, I think they can pull it off without it being too much like WoW.

Crafting yes, professions no. D3 isn't going to be an MMO, it's an ARPG, good old hack n' slash, no need for gathering and tailoring and things of that nature in it.

Crafted items still exist in DII. I would love to see them return in DIII, as the wonderful nature of the resultant crafts could range from the awful to the sublime. It would be nice if crafting formulae/however it will work in DIII (if they're in it) were kept secret and people had to work them out over time, like alchemy

I wouldn't like to see professions, unless it is adjusted to the D3 world. I'd prefer to see 'class-specific' crafting, like a Barbarian can only craft certain items and only get certain mods (for example: only + to Barbarian skills and not for other classes). Would be more single player friendly as well.

i'd like to see crafting expanded. to the point of being able to re-roll certain mods on rare items but not others with the right craft recipe.

I'm not sure I like that, as someone with enough crafting materials would effectively be able to choose their gear.

I would like to see a crafting become more in depth, but I do not want professions. They just don't belong in an ARPG.

Not interested. Crafting leads to material farming and storage woes.

The crafting in dii began a little late to be useful, requiring pgems and runes. When you start to get what you need for crafts, you're already able to farm uniques. Need some low-level stuff...

Maybe an expansion of Crafting recipes, some with Flawed, some from there up kind of thing with differing mod ranges.

No for Professions

Professions doesn't work for the Diablo world mainly because Diablo is designed to be an ARPG not a MMORPG. The major difference being that you should be able to play an ARPG with any number of people, be it solo or in a party, whereas a MMORPG almost always requires a party. For this reason the Idea of professions doesn't really work.

I however fully agree with the idea of crafting, albeit with a little tweaking such that it is available earlier on.

Crafting requires materials, which are dropped by specific monsters.

Isn't that like heading towards MMORPG?
