There seems to be a bit of HC interest in the sticky thread, but nothing sustained. I thought a topic might give the idea a bit more prominence.

Is anybody interested in starting fresh, untwinked, HC characters? I doubt we'd rush, since quests are a good way to get items and experience, and generally safer in HC.

It'd be ideal if everybody could play something that contributed to the team in a meaningful way. E.g. Enchant, Holy Freeze, Amp Damage, Lower Resist, Conviction, Fanaticism, Druid Spirits, Barb Warcries, even an Assassin who uses Cloak of Shadows and Mind Control to help her team mates when they're overwhelmed...

A team of 2 to 4 would be great.

Edit: I'm thinking of cool builds like this ideally, but not compulsorily: http://forums.diii.net/showthread.php?t=572065

Things like this have been done before, and I believe each of them has come up with a similar problem - Time zones, work/personal commitments etc.

Even in a 2-team HC MP tourney, my teammate and I (both Aust,) had difficulty organising times. For you and I, both being Aust, it would be easier to organise our times, but even then, chances are, our times would not be perfect each week. Let alone organising with people who are awake when we sleep etc. Many peoples' times are very (mine :)) varied

I'm not being a complete pessimist on this, but I'm just saying it has been attempted before, and there are many difficulties involved in organising such.

Well, I'm pretty flexible right now, personally, and will be for a long time (student). I usually find no problems playing with Europeans, but Americans tend to be asleep.

Anyway, I'm happy if I get even one person playing with me on a semi regular basis (every 2 or 3 days).

Check out this post (http://forums.diii.net/showthread.php?t=571462)for ideas and maybe post a HCWF2 thread. Basically, you'll need to specify build types, play style and drop preferences; then establish your time zone and when you can play.

Just wondering if you've thought any further on this Cwic. I'd be interested, but I'm only available at late night our times.
But yeah, the format should be similar to the HCWF2 idea if you're thinking of continuing it.

I have a bit. I know at least two other people in the forum who are interested but haven't said so here. I'll probably make a HC Weekend version 2 thread tomorrow, as I really liked that idea - pretty much exactly what I was aiming for. I'd say we'll get at least 4 to 5 people playing regularly.... which to be honest is a nice number. Not too hard to organise, not too chaotic in battles, and everybody gets to feel like they're doing something (compared to an 8 player game where it's a zerg rush through the enemies straight from point A to point B). :)

And I think late night is probably good. The Europeans are mostly in the afternoon then, and more likely to be around. Eh, you can check this post's timestamp to determine my sleep patterns lately. ;)

Hehe! That made me laugh for a number of reasons.
1. The great SC simile between SC and D2 8pl party. And very true as well!
2. Checked timestamp, and it's very similar to when I went to bed.
Great news, and hope to hear more.

I'm thinking of starting HC and a party seems like a good idea. I live in EST, but my sleep patterns are flexible - I'm a Grad Student and it's summer ;). I would be interested in playing Fishy for my first HC character, if you would be interested in safety provided by 8-10 skellies running around, amp, decrep, CE.

Let me know.

I've always been one for mp groups, but yeah, time management has always been a problem. I'm here on the east coast, but I usually stay up pretty late (3 to 4 AM), can you guys tell me what times it would take place according to EST? (Sorry I suck with time zones haha)

Well, you'd probably have to play with Team 2 which have alot of people in EST.

Unfortunately, we have already started and have made it to Act 2 Normal Viper Temple just finished so you would have to catch up a bit. We usually play from 1pm-3pmish EST. Anyways, if you're interested, I would suggest you post in the Team 2 thread
