I hope there will not be a repeat of what happened in D2, where the countess was always immune to cold and fire in hell.

While I can accept that you can build a character that just cannot cut it, I found it very frustrating that I could not complete the quest with my Fire and Cold Sorceress simply due to immunities, while I could kill everything else in the game where hard battling could manage it.

I did not mind Unique bosses being untouched by my most furious attacks, but not being able to complete a quest is a whole different storey.

I think this is a good idea, and would actually solve some of the boss run problems. Repeated Baal runs would be more interesting and harder if he had random immunities.

I think monster resistances should be capped at around 90%, so if you really HAVE to take out a specific enemy it's not impossible without rerolling the map, while still rewarding a balanced build (ever tried to take out Baal's 4th wave on a fireballer without -res gear? Not practical). But varying these resistance extremes on key targets is a good idea, at least if you think people making very focused builds to run certain enemies is a bad thing.
