So! We already know that the Barbarian will take part in DIII, good news ! :smug:

Now about the WD, I'm pretty sure he took the necromancer's place, so we can scratch the necro from the list. I'm the gameplay trailer they said the pets we saw were his "first pets", and I don't see another character using multiple pets in the same game. Plus, he still his walls and improved them, who needs bone walls now?

The paladin : Very thin chances! The barb already took his charge skill, and we didn't see any scepter or anything holy drop in the gameplay trailer. Plus, there is already a colored guy in the game...

The sorceress : Or any kind of mage? There must be a mage class. Short staff dropping in the gameplay trailer proves it. We just have to wait and see for which mage class will come out!

The amazon : I doubt they will take out ranged combat! So it will be either a rogue, a zon or some kind of hunter (I wish nothing more then a witch doctor comes from Warcraft in that game! Even though there are already other similar sounds we heard in the trailer =( )

Assassin, Druid : These characters are too much hybrid-type. Like melee summoning mage or close quarter combat chick with breast caster dual wielder. I guess we will see other of those hybrid-type class in the next expansion!

Not sure it's as clean cut as that. People say WD = Necro because of something like zombie wall, but zombie wall is more a hybrid of bone wall and firewall. If you've listened to the dev panel about skills/characters, they talk about how they initially sent a request to the art/animation team to make a fireball spell for the WD, which was also a basic Sorcerer/ess spell, but through other ideas eventually changed it to 'firebomb'.

Not saying that Necromancer is going to be back, but they're certainly spreading the love around.

I could see a thief taking the role of the assassin. Stealing items or getting better drops...I also have to think that there is going to be some type of supporting character. Maybe a Priest/Paladin combo. As long as the characters all have many different ways of being played I'm cool with it :D

I could certainly see them building a character similar to the assassin around the name 'thief', with even more stealth-based abilities, but I certainly hope it does not effect drops.

As for a healer - I see this as likely. It just better have a viable skill set for soloing. I feel that it's important than each character be able to complete the game alone. This would probably be the casting-based, 'sorc', class.

So lets see

Barb - heavy melee/tank
WD - summoner +
'thief' - stealth, single high damage attacks, traps make sense here too
'sorc' - with healing/buffs?
'ranger' - basically an amazon all over again

I don't see that as unlikely.

Only problem I can see with that is the "sorc - with healing/buffs"...

Making an Elemental Ranged Damage Dealer with heals / buffs is just screaming overpowered to me...
