As mentioned earlier, a greater emphasis will be put on gold.
Instead of using it as a method of currency as many have suggested, it would be very original to have some kind of method to melt the gold and make special jewelry or enhancements that one can add to their weapons and armors. This might be a long shot but it would definitely make gold collecting significantly more interesting.
What are your takes?
It is an interesting concept, but I also doubt it is something that will be incorporated into the game. Why not just shop for items at vendors, like Charsi? She'd be happy to melt your gold and make an item for you.

It sounds interesting but im with Dacar92, they just need to give to vendors some good items so is worth for us to waste our gold on them

agreed!
No much point in artificially complicating stuff!

I agree. One of the things I didn't mind about HGL was the ability to use gold to add a random affix to an item. The better the affix, the more gold it cost (you had your choice between a basic affix, good affix, legendary affix, etc) . I didn't play HGL for long but that feature alone kept my gold to a bare minimum.
I imagine there'd be lots of ways Blizz could generate a use for gold.
I'm guessing it will have some trade value, like in wow. I just hope it won't kill the item for item trade all in all.
In D2 it wasn't hard really to keep your stash full of gold. And if you play SP and kept gold in ATMA you could have millions stashed away (unless you had a gambling problem ). A use for gold like in HGL would be great and would add more disparity between characters and items.

paying gold to add suffix to an item would be one of the best ways to improve gold value
