Just a small suggestion, but if like in LOD you can switch to alternate equipped weapons in D3, they should be visible on one's back.

I think that would be a definite plus. When I first figured out how the weapon-tab worked, my first thought was "Wait, where is he keeping those swords?!". A good swapping animation instead of simply swapping the weapon models on-the-fly would be nice too. Imagine a warrior with a spare shield and sword across his back, wouldn't want to cover it up with a cape/cloak (imagining a paladin-type, a rogue/stealth character would look awesome with a spare bow on their back).
In short, I like it!

It would look nice indeed, and would make more sense then how it is right now

sounds great, but i'm not sure how it would look with a Polearm or a pike on the back of your character? Maybe they should just ignore those types of weapons, but it would be kind of silly, if the other weapons are visible on one's back and they weren't. Any ideas?

This sounds like a definetly plus.

Definitely agree with that - it would work with any of them, though if you have a big pike on your back you might need to be careful of low ceilings? :)
Actually showing the character swapping weapons over I can already picture, would worry about delays though...

Wait, why wouldn't you put your sword back into your sheath?
Because real men hang there weapons off there back.
And polearms don't have sheaths.....
What about Shape shifters?
A werewolf with a giant axe on his back. Hmmmmm.... :scratchchin:
I officially sanction this idea.
+1

Just picture the Centaur general from the first Narnia movie...though with less horsie...:)
Swinging two big swords, gets them stuck in the hide of a big beastie, pulls out a big @ss greatsword and keeps pounding :)

Could be handled like town portals, with animation in one form (from rightclick), no animation - thus faster - from another form (belt key).
would be really really cool. I hope they put this in or think of it at least.
