Trouble taking screenshots of Diablo

I'm using windows XP and for some reason when I try to take a screenshot and pasting into paint.net the resulting image is whited out and blurry.

I've tried using print screen and hypersnap. Any help would be much appreciated!

When you press printscreen the game saves a screenshot in the Diablo folder :)
