Hiya! (1st thread yay lol:jig:)

I've just thought that it would be cool that when you get poisoned or someting that the screen goes blurry
like your getting hallucinations or somethin:crazyeyes:

This happened in an old game called Blood. The game was slow to react to your movements and only approximate on your aim while the poison lasted, or you were blind.

It's an interesting thought, and would definitely be a first for the series. I know Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the earth did similar things (poison, insanity, crippled limbs, etc.) Having poison do more than damage would definitely be more interesting, though slowed attack speed is already taken by cold damage, I'm sure there could be a reasonable effect, maybe lowered attack rating?

I'm not sure that poison is going to be in D3, during the gameplay video the commentary noted "disease damage", maybe the replacement for poison? I kinda hope both are around, I've become attached to my poison necromancer (and watching things drop like flies, not attacking them with flies!).

I am certainly not an expert but I don't think Blizz could prevent players using 3pps to turn off the effect. Generally speaking obfustication such as intentionally poor camera angles is a terrible method of increasing difficulty anyway. D2 (depending whether you use direct3d iirc) will give the screen a green hue when poisoned, blue when chilled, etc. A toggleable option along these lines that is intended to give flavour rather than make it hard to see what's going on... sure, if it's easy to do.

No, poison is supposed to damage the character, not making the player suffer on not seeing what happens.
