This wallpaper was a long time coming, this guy besides Deckard IS my fave character in this game. This guy was a total badass, whenever he wasn't weakened. With that I took a screenshot from the Diablo 3 website and started going cut out crazy. I did like I've done in the past, painted around the edges of the person or art piece I want cut out. But I did another cut out. I wanted to make sure the wings stayed bright so I cut them also as a separate layer.
The wings: These wings are the most original style I've ever seen. One thing I've seen with many wallpapers of this pic, the wings people either fade off or leave cut off. I did my best to draw them farther off the edge of the screen since blurring them off and leaving the chopped off bothers me to no end. I also made sure these wings looks as clean as I could. When I did the cutout it didn't look so well, so I did my best to smooth them, blurr them, and then I added the glow to them. I was very please with the result.
The Little Details: I made sure the area where the d3 logo was, was faded out nicely and the way it turned out I couldn't be more pleased. Now this is where I went to greater lengths to make this look awesome. Wherever the wings weren't glowing and the feather looking armor was on a black backdrop and darker, I made sure that had a black fade edge to make it look smoother. The areas where the wings shone brighter around the feather armor I did a lighter corona effect that matched the wings.
The Runes: I had noticed my fiery rune circle had gotten more and more elongated up and down, it slowly started to look like the circle again. I went and redid the circle and got a better more balance fiery ring angled circle.
To me guys this wallpaper has as much care taken into it as my first female Witchdoctor wall. Now I hope Tyrael isn't to blurry, Ii did build this graphic from a larger size than 1920x1200 so it shouldn't be too bad. I will upload the other sizes soon, I don't want to mess this image up and screw up all the wings and things.
Please let me know what you think, did I do well, did it suck worse than previous walls? I want to know. Because otherwise how can I make better fan walls?
