View Full Version : Diablo quests
I'm gradually adding the D1/HF info to the Diablowiki, and just finished all the D1 quests (HF yet to come). I put fairly thorough info on all of the pages, but had to skimp on a few since I was in a hurry. if anyone, their memory fresh from playing the game lately, wants to polish up the stubs, or add some more to the others, or start on the HF quests, feel free. I've not done the monsters, items, etc pages yet, so lots of the links go nowhere, as of yet.

links to the others on that page, or in the navigation at the bottom of every quests page.

Flux Great to hear that.
I've added pages to the three main characters of diablo (warrior, sorceror and rouge) using the sorceress page as a template as well as jarulf's guide and your original diabloii.net pages from archive.org for the information.
It was just basic information and not that pretty. I'll look to try to help you out by adding more later. I'd like to update the monk's page as well, but it'd be easier if you'd do me a favor. Could you spearate the different game character links by game on the main page. Like keep all the diablo2 characters in one heading, and diablo/hellfire in another. I ask this because it would be hard to add a page about the barbarian since there is a barbarian in d2. ;p I start from the main page and go from there to update stuff.
P.S. If you have a guide for what code works and how it would look in wiki format, I'd appreaciate it. I already learned a bit, but there is a lot I could do if there was a guide to help me. I already know a bit about computer programming so it doesn't have to be a beginner's guide.
yeah, the issue of d1 vs. d2 page names is a pain. that's why I insisted that we separate the d3 wiki, (which Rush hated since it was a technical PITA) since I thought it would be terribly complicated and annoying to name the pages otherwise.
I was initially calling all the diablo pages "D1 Spells" or whatever, just putting D1 in front, but that seems kind of lame in retrospect, and it's also confusing since a lot of those pages are Hellfire, and not D1. So now I'm using the more logical page names, but using categories to differentiate, and making clear what the page is in the first sentence on it. "This article is about the Barbarian character found in Hellfire. For the Diablo 2 barbarian, click here.." that sort of thing.
Also, every page about d1 or hf I'm putting a [[category:Diablo I]] on it, in addition to other appropriate category tags.
And I'm generally trying to keep the pages fairly to the point and not making a separate page for everything. I went on a bit much with the quests, and of course Jarulf's guide is 250 pages, but a fraction as many people are playing D1/Hf as D2, and the game is 10 years old, so we don't need to go too all out on them, at least not initially. I'll probably do 1 page for all the d1 spells, 1 for all the hf spells, etc. instead of paragraphs and tables for every single spell in the game...

I'm sorry I don't know what I was thinking. I need more sleep during the day and need to stop posting late at night. You are totally right. If I had used the categories instead of trying to get there from the main page I would have seen all the info that you've already added. Thankyou for replying and I'll do what I can to add more. Now that I know where to find the pages.
I love this site and appreciated everything you've done so far. Thankyou
P.S. I totally agree with you about the fact that d1 is 10+ years old and that not as many people play d1 as d2. I just like giving information and helping when/where I can. Even if it is just regurgitated information that you first gave.
oh, i'm all for adding as much d1 info as possible. I just have to prioritize my time spent on it by need, not by having fun writing up the d1 quests. *cough*
Also, the problem is the wiki not having any decent navigation set up for d1/hf yet, not your using it. I'm going to throw up a bunch more pages for d1 stuff this week, just to get all the unqiues/spells/monsters/etc online, and set up some kind of navigation for it, and then get back to doing d3 wiki stuff, while hoping you and others will flesh out the d1 pages.
I've been reading over jarulf's guide the last couple of days and while I think it goes into more technical details than most are interested in/likely to understand (myself included), I'd like to have all/most of the info in it on the wiki at some point. so anyone who is interested and enjoys sharing the info, feel free. It's easy with d1 since Jarulf did such great work compiling it all already; it just needs reformatting and representation in the wiki.
