What do you guys play to get your multiplayer hardcore fix now, since Diablo 3 hasn't come out (besides Diablo 2)? Diablo 2 is fun, but I've played it to death, know it like the back of my hand, and the servers seem to be somewhat empty these days (very few people to play / trade with).

Is there any other multiplayer game that has a similar challenge and an active community, like Diablo 2 had 4-6 years ago?

I bought Sacred, but the servers are EMPTY, and I just had trouble getting into it. Also, Titan Quest doesn't seem to have the multiplayer thing going for it.

Mythos&HG:L both offered the fun... but Flagship Studios has gone and died. So right now, casinos ~_~

Shame about Mythos - I never got to try it before their site went down, but it sounded good.

Not a fan of HG:L because of the optional monthly payment, but I may give it a shot. It turns out Titan Quest has no hardcore mode either, and no closed online multiplayer.. bleh.

Anyone else have suggestions?

try warhammer. heavy pvp oriented. titan quest was fun, a little too linear levels.. and the multiplayer was very lack cause the game is full of hacks hacks hacks. i wish someone took that game over, it's pretty cool

Can't give HG:L a shot now I don't think. Well, not for HC anyways.

Last I checked, HC was a feature for subscribers only, and so far as I know until the mess with FSS gets sorted out no new subscribers are being taken.

I could be wrong though.

try warhammer
Eww.

Try Oblivion... not that it is a hack and slash, but at least it will keep you busy ;)

WoW is my current addiction. The jump is a big one, but it's a beautiful game.

Although you won't find any Hardcore elements here, death is a rather normal part of the game. If you're into PvP though, the arena system could be interesting.
