I doubt that they will actually do this, but it's something I've been thinking about.

What if the "Uber Quest" events were considered canonical in the D3 story line? They've got these little blurbs on Arreat Summit about what happened after the end of D2.

Angered by his previous failures to destroy the small groups of adventurers that stood in his way, Diablo has reincarnated himself once again at his absolute maximum strength. The demonic ritual which caused this ultimate reincarnation was long thought to be impossible, even by the most learned arcane scholars. Now, the Lord of Terror sets his plan in motion, and he and his brothers will unleash a new wave of Pandemonium upon the world of Sanctuary...

Pandemonium Diablo lies in a secret realm where, together with his brothers, he commands three generals. These generals, Lilith, Duriel, and Izual, conduct operations from their own hidden realms. Adventurers powerful and clever enough to unravel the secrets behind this "Pandemonium" will obtain knowledge and treasure used only by the most powerful agents of sin.
And this little sub-story is continued on the stats page for each Uber (except Diablo Clone, of course). From Lilith's page:

Lilith is believed to be Queen of the Succubi and matriarch of demons. After her legions of Succubi and strongest daughter Andariel were killed by mortals who successfully defended the Worldstone, Lilith swore to personally intervene. She masterminded the revival of Diablo by manifesting herself in the mortal realm and performing a ritual of Dark Summoning. This ritual, long thought to be impossible by the most powerful mortal wizards, allowed Lilith to link with Diablo across realms, strengthening him until he was finally able to once again reincarnate himself in the mortal plane. Rage and a deep yearning for revenge boiled within the eyes of the Lord of Terror, and together he and Lilith resurrected the two remaining Prime Evils as well as Duriel and Izual, two of their strongest agents.

Diablo announced his grand plan - the Three were finally strong enough to spread Pandemonium throughout Sanctuary. Lilith could have easily conducted an assault on her own, but because she had been left severely weakened by the Dark Summoning ritual, she agreed to aid the Prime Evils and command some of their remaining forces.

They probably just added this writing to be fun and so that the Uber Quests wouldn't seem completely unrelated. But Lilith could still appear in Diablo 3 or something, right?

I remember reading quite a while ago that those were irrelevant to the story.

eh, probably right.

I only started thinking about it again because someone told me they read their would be a "Lilith" involved in D3 or something.

Lilith is actually a very important character in the Diablo 3 lore. Her role in D2 events is nigh, however in the books she is often a viable character to the Burning Hells.

Cool. How do you know this?

I no Lilith had virtually nothing to do with D2 but I did find her little story on Arreat Summit interesting.

Oh shoot, my bad. I didn't mean Diablo 3 inparticular. I meant the whole Diablo lore. She's one of the main characters of 4 books. Also, she is one of the creators of Sanctuary. She may have a vital role in the future, but as the past, you won't regret reading checking out her parts in the D universe.

My perception of this "quest" is pretty much like the cow level. Just fun fun :P Imagin a Hell Bovine in the cinematic :jig:
